I'll quote myself from earlier today...
I'm with Eric... this was the first TNA show I've watched in over a year & it was absolutely awful. It was the same TNA that they've always been. "We're the true wrestling alternative, we've got the best wrestlers ever & we let them shine, none of that kiddy stuff, we're gonna be #1 some day!" When in reality they offer a handful matches ranging from meh to pure crap, a bunch of lame wanna-be Attitude-era backstage segments, storylines that make no sense & go no where, & all the old guys getting all the mic & camera time. The more things change, or should I say the more things they claim to change, the more they stay the same.
I'll also second Eric on that AJ/Angle match. It started off hot, followed by a nonsensical run-in, then the last 15-20 minutes were each guy hitting or attempting to hit their finishers & then kicking out of them.
Say what you will about WWE, but atleast they're honest about the product they're putting out there... "We're the #1 company in the world & right now we're catering to the next generation of wrestling fans. If you don't like it, go find a better wrestling company on TV... what's that? you can't? Tough shit, deal with it."

I actually liked the last iMPACT. Yeah, they said they were going to change a lot of stuff but it's TNA what did you honestly think they were going to change. Seeing all the old guys didn't bother me as much, just don't won't to see them in the long run. One of the things that I really liked from the show were the fans. They were awesome. I thought the AJ/Angle match was a good first main event. Even though they repeated a bunch of spots it kept me entertained.

Those TNA fans are the dumbest schmucks in the history of wrestling. They had shirts with Hogan & "Change" on them. They were wearing Hogan costumes & complaining about WWE being for kids. They were saying sports entertainment sucks, then cheered when Hogan said he was gonna make TNA the #1 sports entertainment company.
They think they're smart cause they cheer for heels & highspots.

Yeah, I heard that those fans were completely ridiculous. Alvarez said they showed a bunch of them at the beginning, all looking like complete goofs, and asked them what they wanted from TNA. One apparently said "Chairshots to the head."
Such morons.

That was probably the most entertaining segment out of that whole 3 hour mess. One guy actually had a TNA tattoo... I nearly shit myself.

Well, to me they were entertaining which is something I don't really expect from the crowds.

Impact was really good in my opinion. Alot of fun suprises mixed with a couple of very good matches made for a really good watch. Jeff Hardy showing up had me marking out and I'm not even a big fan, I just wasn't expecting it at all. Val Venis appearing was awesome. Pope/Mcguiness was great I just wish it would have been given more time. AJ/Angle was good but I think they really over did the false finishes and finishing moves. The knockouts tag was another good match. I agree with mvmafia about the fans. There seemed to be a great atmosphere there.

I'm assuming you're saying Val Venis' cameo was good for the nostalgia factor.
To me, it exemplified everything that was wrong with the show. Val Venis showed up, for no reason whatsoever, and began to participate in a segment that went absolutely nowhere. As awful as WWE writing can be, you know that, 9 times out of 10, a segment like that would lead up to some ridiculous payoff. Here, there was legitimately no reason for it to be on the show - it can't be defended. Like the Nasty Boys segments, it was a shameless, mindless waste of time.

After watching those segments it looks like they are going with a Team 3D/Nasty Boys feud, which is bad but not pointless. It might not be pointless, but it does exemplify the hypocrisy of the whole Hogan angle, and TNA in general. Claiming to be all about the young stars and then giving all your TV time to these old, out of shape has beens just because they're in tight with Hogan. If the Nasty Boys are going after the tag belts I wouldn't be shocked to see Ed Leslie on Impact by the end of the month. The only question is what gimmick he'll be under. My money's on The Booty Man.

Don't forget about Hogan's ass buddy Bubba the Love Sponge trying to get interviews with laid out wrestlers backstage all night. I just love all the optimism in this thread. You guys are acting like they hired Paul E. or Gabe to turn things around... they hired Hogan & Bischoff! They preached "change" for 3 hours & gave us WCW Thunder.

Orlando Jordan is what ruined the show. You do realize that right?
