Another year? Goddamit. Hopefully the "conclusion" includes concluding with the multiplayer fixing. 1 was horrible online, 2 was better, but still buggy. Can't wait for 3.

With the exception of a few glitches, it had incredible multiplayer... which is amazing considering multiplayer was thrown in last minute to sell more units. 2's multiplayer shipped much worse off, but they've patched it so many times that lag on forgeign hosts is the only real problem left.

I'm speaking from personal experience...and the majority of other's experiences. 1 was out of control when it came to cheating, lagging, glitching, etc etc. I'm not saying Multiplayer wasn't enjoyable, I'm just saying it was buggy. I enjoyed 2's multiplayer more. It seemed more loose, and I've never really had any noticeable problems. It maybe glitched me back a couple of steps sometimes, but nothing compared to 1. Then again, foreign hosts are a problem everywhere. You can't really fix it.

"the majority of other's experiences?"
I'm the resident Gear head here. I've been playing it since day one (nearly 4 years). I've played thousands of matches with thousands of players on both games & followed the community on the Gears message board. I'm pretty sure I have a better idea of what the majority of other's experiences with Gears have been like.
PS: Horde isn't "multiplayer..." it's co-op.

Never mind. Forget it. You're right. I'm wrong. Even though I've seen people on GameFAQs, GameSpot, and IGN having online issues, it's instantly nullified by you because you're an original fan and you know what you're talking about.

Yep, I've been playing the games for nearly 4 years while you've barely dipped your toes in the water. By looking at your gamercard & Gears leaderboard stats, I'm guessing your experience with Gears 1 was renting it for a weekend, playing the single player for about 30 minutes, hopping into multiplayer (3 months after Gears 2 came out, which meant most of the people playing were the pros who know every little glitch & exploit on top of being good), & getting your ass handed to you for a few games. For Gears 2, you've mostly played Horde, which isn't even competitive multiplayer. It's you & 4 other guys vs bots. Other than that you've played 4 matches of multiplayer. And after having a quick looksy thru the GameFAQs, IGN, & GameSpot boards, they're online issues are the same as yours... jumping into a game 2 years late & getting smashed by the veterans.

Which gamercard have you looked at, exactly? I had 1 year for xSW4NT0Nx (Halo 3 mainly), and treadelfloods was 3 months (Mostly Halo 3, occasionally Gears 2 with my step-bro on Splitscreen). I never said Horde was Versus, because I figured it would be common sense. I barely played Gears 2 on my account, because I couldn't most of the time (seeing as how I only had Xbox LIVE Silver), while my step-bro had a spare 11 accounts he barely played. I was at my step-bro's half of the week for the last 8 years, so I've been playing on his account to help him get achievements, or playing on one of his other ones for Multiplayer. My experience with Gears 1 was exactly how I've said, with my step-bro, who bought it a short while after it came out. I tried playing the Multiplayer multiple times, and it sucked ass for me. Whenever he played, he had mixed results. This went on for months. We occasionally jumped back on now and then to check how the connection was, and it stayed the same, so we stopped trying a couple of months before Gears 2 came out. He got Gears 2 when it came out, and we played the Campaign then went straight into Multiplayer (COG = Ben Carmine, Locust = Sentinel). The only thing that was buggy for me was the chainsaw, but that was pretty much given as a host advantage, like every other game has. Besides that, I found no glitch problems, and continued playing for around 8-9 months (This while my Xbox LIVE account was still Silver). Again, please COMPLETELY judge how much I've played before asking. It makes you look cool when you attempt to be right about my personal experiences, which in reality you know nothing about.

You're still judging both games on limited playtime.
