Got Red Dead Redemption at midnight. Been playing freeroam multiplayer since I got it... it's amazing! I'm about to start the single player campaign. I'll post more later.

Not really playing much at the moment, exams. As usual however, I have far too many games on the go, the main one I've started is Far Cry 2. Also AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! -- A Reckless Disregard for Gravity is nice for a distraction (but easily addicting).
On the started but not finished list (some are a while back...): Bioshock 1 Zack & Wiki Super Paper Mario Metroid Prime 2 Super Mario Sunshine World of Goo Tomb Raider Anniversary Eternal Darkness

Just got RDR in the mail today, and my early impressions are WOW.
They're is so much to do in this game that it's going to take you awhile to get through everything. I'm holding off of Super Mario Galaxy 2 just to invest alot of my time on Redemption.
I don't know if this is the case for everyone else, but is the text really hard to read? It seems rather small and I got a 40+ inch screen.
At times, I don't even bother to read what's on the screen and just go to my journal and read it there. Also, the cover system is kinda jumpy to me, but I'm hoping that it's just something I have to get used too.
Haven't tried multiplayer yet, but I'm reading it's having some problems and glitches so I'm in no hurry to play it.
So far though, it's really good.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 has been taking up all of my gaming time since my brother took over Red Dead Redemption from me.
I haven't had a moment where i was in awe or anything, it's pretty much has the same pace of the original. It is a bit more difficult, which is nice. Nothing really noteworthy to talk about after the first 2 worlds, but I'm sure it'll get better as the game progresses.

I finished the first half of Super Mario Galaxy 2. It was good, but not as good as I thought it was going to be.
That's not to say it's a bad game, because it's still fun and challenging, but it's not as memorable as the first Galaxy. From the boss battles to even the last battle with Bowser, everything just felt rushed.
I'm currently getting the Green Stars, which is another 120; just to complete the game.
Every Wii owner should try it this time, and if you liked the first one, buying it wouldn't be too bad. But, don't expect something as groundbreaking as the first one, because sadly, it isn't. While they didn't say it was going too, I thought it would bring a little more to the table.
BTW, how the hell did this score a 10 on IGN and the first one scored a 9.7. I don't look at scores to evaluate my games, but I just couldn't help noticing it as I was scrolling for the SMG2 guide.
Stupid.

Well, I'm not much of a gamer but I recently started playing some EWR. I've always liked GM Mode on SvR and this just took a step further for me.

I'm never dedicated enough for EWR longterm.
Got Mass Effect in the Steam sale a week or two ago, loving it.

I'm currently playing a couple of games right now.
On the 360, I'm playing NCAA Football 11 w/my brother in Dynasty mode. The game is very good, it's the biggest leap in terms of features I've seen from the franchise in quite some time. They bumped up everything, from graphics, sound and even the look of the menu is much better. Controls are essentially the same, I mean how much can you change right?
On the DS, I've got Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Very fun game, never played any of the Mario & Luigi games before this, but I'm really digging this one. The controls feel very much like Mario RPG, so the curve to learn the controls wasn't very steep. I am stuck on this one part where I'm inside Bowser's stomach, and he has to eat a 10+ carrot in under a minute. You use the touch screen to break up the bits of carrot as he eats it, but they're are certain bits that if you break it in time, a little POW circle appears. You hit it and it breaks the food up instantly. Problem is, you have to hear a certain ping sound in order to find it, but they're so many bits coming down, you can't tell which one it is. Other than this little roadblock, it's a must buy for any DS owner.

Played New Vegas, got pissed off and gave up the same evening I installed it. Will probably never go back to.
Almost did the same with Dead Rising 2. Wasn't going to go back to it, then I figured out the best way to play, when to fight and when to avoid, and immediately started loving it.

I rented Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood when it came out & completely beat it in less than a week. The single player is even better (in story, gameplay, & graphics) than II & the multiplayer is decent (could've used a little more time in development).

I've been playing New Vegas on PS3, as well as Call of Duty: Black Ops. Both are my new favorite games. God, the campaign for Black Ops is golden. Bringing Reznov back = Huge fucking markout moment.
12/4 EDIT: Been playing Pokemon White since last night. Managed to get over 6 hours of play time, and am just now getting to the fourth Gym Leader. I've gotta say, they made this game a LOT better. I'm wondering if you can travel to the other places once you beat the Champion. I also like the new "LIBERATE THE POKEMON" storyline and where they're going with it.

Note: I'm using Kotaku's Review format. I don't like grading or scoring games. It's just my preference. Pac Man Championship Edition DX (Xbox 360) After Namco Bandai released Pac Man Championship Edition in 2007 to fairly positive reviews; the unanimous consensus was that Namco was capable of modernizing some of their iconic stars from decades past without changing the formula too much. Sure, Championship Edition was mostly flashy colors and fast gameplay, but no one thought 2 simple mechanics in today's gaming world would breathe new life into Pac Man. Fast forward 3 years and Namco Bandai wants to follow up CE with something special. Would they be able to build upon the foundation that it's predecessor set or just add frills with no substance? Ideal Player To be quite honest, anyone. Everyone has played Pac Man at some point in their lives. It's that same great gameplay but amplified in so many other ways. Why Should You Care? It's one of the very rare cases where a game is not only able to reinvent itself, but lays the foundation for future iterations that it might not have had the game not be as receptive as it was. It also shows many of the other game companies that might want to head down this road of HD remakes that sometimes you just need to keep the "hook" that players loved in years past and present it in a more flashy way and not totally revamp everything that in turn becomes something very different. How different is game from Championship Edition? The game has much more variety when it comes to the look of the game and how you play it. You can switch the character palates such as the classic look we all grew up with to a more 8 bit look that looks gorgeous in high def. DX also has nine courses to choose from, ranging from some that have a wide open plain to run around in to some that very constrictive and confined which makes for some fun times trying to bob and weave your way out of a corner. Gameplay wise, you got 3 modes you can choose: Score Attack - You attempt to get the highest possible score within 5 or 10 minutes. Time Attack - You must obtain a certain amount of fruit as quickly as possible in a set time frame. Ghost Combo - Try to eat as many ghosts as possible without dying. Although, there are 2 new gameplay mechanics that really sets apart DX from not only CE, but from every other Pac Man iteration is the inclusion of bombs and a "bullet time" effect. Bombs are not only a game changer when you're playing DX, but also essential for you to survive some of the later levels that go beyond a 5 minute time limit. If you ever get trapped in a corner or if you got a chain of ghosts coming after you and can't get that last fruit or pelt, the bombs will help you by taking the ghosts back to their starting point and allowing you to continue. While not as impactul as the bombs, "bullet time" does come in handy, especially when you eventually run out of bombs. What happens is when you run straight into a ghost, time will slow down and allow you to turn around so you don't die. It's yet another essential piece of gameplay when you're going through some of the later levels when time isn't on your side and the enemies start to pile up. Negatives? My only gripe is the achievments are WAY to easy to obtain. I got a perfect completion score when I was about 75% done with the game. Small gripe I know, but they could have made it a bit more challenging. The Bottom Line Pac Man Championship Edition DX has quickly become one of the most essential titles to own on XBLA. The new game modes, levels, and customization helps DX not only surpass CE in every way, but in my opinion it's the best Pac Man game of all time.
