Thank you for reading this. I might just me just me but, I feel like I am improving. I am really trying, I have been watching my videos a lot, trying to hit more beats/sound effects, flow things better, be more coherent, and lyrical correlate. I mostly edit try to have people feel happy and feel like I am failing at that with a lot of a lot of the people. I feel like no matter what I do. how hard I try, how much I like my videos, and use feedback what ever video is going to be no going to be liked by a lot of people by default. I am really sorry if this comes off like a rant. Can you guys please, please help me to see what you see? I wasn’t on the show, but the thing that really irked me was how you took little to none of the feedback I gave you when you sent me these videos before the competition. There definitely wasn’t any changes in the MMV. I’ve said it a thousand times before, and you haven’t listened to me yet, but I’ll say it again. Stop trying to run before you can walk. Do a basic video. Stop trying to do slow mo. Stop trying to do heavy effects work. Stop trying to be super cute with the videos. Just do a basic video. The guys were a little harsh on you. They went on too long about just you. But I do feel like there’s merit to what they’re saying if you can get past some of the gruffness in the way it was stated. I think Reed had a great point in saying that if feels like you don’t want to take the feedback, you just want people to see your work. Last competition felt like a step in the right direction, and this competition felt like two steps backwards. The people who have invested so much time in giving you feedback and discussing you on Zone V actually DO care about you. If we didn’t, I surly wouldn’t waste my time. But you have got to take the feedback. Really listen to it. These people (myself included) know what they’re talking about. No one is trying to steer you in the wrong direction. We all actively want to see you succeed and move up the card. I’m so sick of having to put you in the opening match every show. I have a challenge for you. Make a generic video. Pick a wrestler. Not a comedy wrestler, or someone in a giant stuffed suit. Pick a wrestler, and a simple song. A song with simple, evenly spaced beats. And edit. Edit points of impact on the wrestling moves to the beats. THAT’S ALL. No goofy effects. No preoccupation with trying to be cute or funny. JUST FOCUS ON DECENT EDITS. All the other stuff can come later when you have your basics down. For you, it’s all about basics. Start your video the moment you sign up (because you won’t get the grace period again) and focus on one video. Just one. Do a rough draft, then go over it again and tighten the edits. Just like anything else, do revisions. Don’t be satisfied with it - especially when a senior editor tells you that it’s not good. I don’t know how plainer to state it at this point. You’ve been given a wealth of advice and I don’t feel you’ve taken any of it. I think that’s where all of the frustration lies. But believe it or not, you’re the only editor who has been invested in this heavily. I can’t remember a single editor who received this much advice and feedback from MVZ. We want to see you do better. You can throw a stone a hit someone here who would be willing to help you. Don’t think my feedback is right? Check with someone else. But don’t be lazy and complacent. Those attributes have no place here. As always, I’m here to watch anything you want some feedback on.

I am really sorry if this comes off like a rant. Can you guys please, please help me to see what you see? Please, please take beej’s advice with this one. I was on the podcast so I can speak directly to our intentions - I want to see you do better. You watch such a variety of wrestling that you can do great stuff here; it opens the door for so many videos. I know you care and I know you try, you wouldn’t sign up every competition and get torn up if you didn’t give a damn. We’re all rooting for you. We all want to see you get better. It just gets frustrating when we keep saying the same advice over and over. Starting your videos as soon as you sign up is something that even I do. That way you have time to get your idea, time to do a rough draft, time to get feedback, time to tighten everything up, and time to make your final draft. If you never take advice again, please just take beej’s. He’s been here since I was still shitting my pants, he’s seen these situations a ton of times and he can offer advice accordingly. I’m sorry if I went in too hard on you on Zone V; it’s frustrating when I want to see you do better but don’t. I look forward to seeing your next video to see if you took what he said and used it.

Were we being harsh on Zone V? I think not. I think you lose a lot of patience with someone after giving years of actual feedback and them not listening.
But yeah please listen to beej lol.

Shout out to Landon for adding a lot of this competition's songs to the Spotify playlist. That was a nice surprise!

I am hoping to work on my basic wrestler music video after I finish up on a mep I sign for before this competition feedback started.
I wanted your opinion on something, I am thinking about editing to the instrumental version of the song to try to notice beats and sound effects better, do you guys think it would help me.

I don't think it would make much of a difference either way. What will help is picking a simple song. Something with a clear, defined, and steady beat. Nothing complicated.

If you guy have not watched the SWOOP youtube channel, I highly recommend it. Her films are fantastically edited, are really fun, and I think they helped me with editing idea. If you guys already watch this channel, what are your thoughts. www.youtube.com/channel/UCqHZdrDcZhhRO11m67Tgz4A

Had a random thought today: what about a mixed match type competition? One world division guy teaming with one gen next guy, in some sort of competition format with the winners getting a tag title shot? Who wouldn’t want to see SWL and headcheese team up? Or AD and Psycho driver? Could be a great learning tool for newer editors, and an interesting challenge for established guys.
Sound interesting to anyone?

Sound interesting to anyone? awesome idea, guess the only problem would be that there is triple the amount of people in gen next divison compared to world division.
