Islet - Called one of the best bands in Britain at the moment. Their USP is that you can only see them live. They have no MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, official website, CD's, Vinyl or any MP3 recordings what-so-ever. So I saw them supporting Los Campesinos & Swanton Bombs last night and they BLEW ME AWAY. Really difficult to describe the sound as it spread so wide, so I won't. There are a few vids on YouTube from last year but what I heard last night was both vastly different and totally on another level. Tune-Yards - Very DIY in a Micachu & The Shapes way. Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - An ensemble troupe of psychedelic folk rockers. Saw their set from the Interface podcast and really liked what I saw/heard. They are bound to be parking up their old school bus at many of the festivals over here this summer. Beach House - A friend kindly sent me their second album "Teen Dream" and wowzers it's good. Hot Chip - 4th album "One Life Stand" is great for the most part. For me it's the first time where they've tried to stick to a few themes and in return they have a much more concise piece. Some of the best tracks they've ever done and would still love to see them live even though i've seen them twice now. Jaylib vs. J. Rocc LEGENDARY - SUPER RARE - NOW FOR FREE. It's a 30 minute mix by J.Rocc utilizing most of the Madlib and J-Dilla beats from their collaborative Jaylib record plus many of their other tracks. Two of the best producers mixed by one of the best DJ's. You can't go wrong. www.stonesthrow.com/news/2010/02/jaylib-vs-jrocc

Anybody else heard the Broken Bells album yet? I really liked the first two singles (The High Road and Vaporize), but from what I've heard, the rest of the album didn't seem nearly as good. I'm gonna end up buying it either way. Between it and the new BRMC (Beat The Devil's Tattoo), March 9th has got me really excited.
