I did feel like the WK card was underwhelming tbh. After the first few matches, I said to GoldenSkulls and Pehrox in our livechat on Discord that these matches haven't really gotten to a big conclusion or nice ending. He agreed. The last 3 matches were solid IMO.

Tana v Omega was MOTN for me, but Kota/Ospreay and Jericho/Naito were up there too. Kinda wanted Okada to win after the whole rainmaker return/trunks thingy, but I understood why they gave it to White. Underwhelming as others said before, but not a bad show in anyway. (Also Explicit and I noticed during the show how there were so many damn pre-match attacks lol)

I really liked a lot of the matches, especially the Main Event and Ishii/Sabre Jr, but honestly to me the MOTN was Kota/Ospreay. It was probably the highest paced match, the stiffest match, and the most engaging. Plus, I'll never get over when Will breaks out the decapitator elbow, legit might be the sickest move in NJPW. But again, there were a buncha great matches especially towards the end, with my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th going to the Main Event, Ishii/Sabre Jr, and White/Okada.

Main event was a masterpiece. Ospreay/Ibushi was just as great in it's own way. Sabre/Ishii was a great technical matchup. Jericho/Naito was excellent by the end. The two tag title matches were fun sprints. And yet people still find this show underwhelming. Kind of illustrates the impossibly high standard New Japan has set for themselves. If a main roster WWE PPV had that many quality matches on it every one would be losing their shit over it.
I thought the show lacked the big event feel of recent years, too. But I just chalked that up to me being mostly checked out on wrestling at this point.

Honestly, the fact that I wasn't as engaged in the Main Event as I should be is all on me, especially since A. I am holding it to an extreme standard and B. It built up slow enough that me so early in the morning decided it'd be a good time to check reddit right when they started doing the stolen finisher things. All on me for that one, gonna rewatch it eventually by itself so I can really enjoy it more. Same with Ishii/Sabre Jr and Ospreay/Ibushi.

Personaly thought it was nice that LIJ won all of their matches and have a majority of the promotion's belt now. They seem like the dominant faction at the moment. Suzuki-Gun is seeming to feud with them with Taichi being the next contender. He'll do well with Naito.
Also OG BC seems like they're gaining some momentum by having Yujiro and Chase Owens rejoin. It's a bit bizarre, but without BC I'd doubt either would survive.

I'm catching up to the Cup rn, and man has it been good so far. Honestly can't say there's been a bad match, and there's been some great breakout performances from Mikey, Chase, Lance, and god damn YOSHI-HASHI. The only notes I'll make so far is that I'm on the last match of the March 14 show, and the match we just saw was so good.(second round spoilers) I really need to start paying more attention to KES, both members are way better at wrestling than I give them credit for, and if Lance can keep having matches like the one he had against Ospreay, he's in the running to be one of my favorite wrestlers this year. Also, YOSHI god damn HASHI is becoming much more enjoyable to watch, which is something I never expected. Overall really good tournament so far, and round 3 is already shaping up to be amazing.

Same! Just finished Ospreay/ Archer, GOT DAMN! Would love to see both Archer and Davey Boy Jr. get some singles love. Just finished ZSJ/Kota too... SABRE!!! Thought Kota might've been the one to win the whole Cup, but I'm always rooting for ZSJ! And Taichi is the fuckin man!

Holy shit this ZSJ/Kota match. If anyone remembers, my first vid ever showcased on here was an MV covering their G1 match from 2017(god I feel old saying that), and all these callbacks to their match then as well as any others they've had are amazing. That sequence leading into Kamigoye was the perfect evolution of the same sequence that has happened twice between them. Loved that match so much... and I was all in on Kota being the one to win and take on Jay in MSG(a match I'm still hoping to see sooner rather than later, possibly at Dominion), but I'm never against MY BOY winning matches, and just thinking of a White/ZSJ match is already making me excited.

This year's BOSJ has been insane. Almost every match was a banger. Ospreay has been the MVP of this tournament IMO. His matches with Phantasmo, Rocky, and Bandido were out of this world. I'm hoping he makes it to the finals. Shingo and him would kill everything done this year. I can see Shingo winning the finals and beat Dragon Lee at Dominion, and then go undefeated as champion.

Shingo vs Ospreay was one of the greatest matches I have ever seen! Absolutely beautiful.

Ospreay and Eagles just put on a MOTYC. Another match that proves why Ospreay will probably be wrestler of the year. Can't wait to see what he does in the G1 this year. Same goes for Takagi. It's gonna be a phenomenal tournament. Might even be better than last years.

This years G1 has started it off to an amazing start. All of Ishii, Ibushi, and Ospreays matches have been insanely good. Especially Ishii's match with Moxley. Those two guys didn't have a wrestling match, they had a fight. And the last 10 minutes of Ospreay and Okada was unbelievable. They had some sick sequences that left me in awe.
