In honor of the late Mr. Bowie.
No one who has seen it will ever forget the use of his song Modern Love in the french film Mauvais Sang.
Or in a scene that directly references that one in the recent film Frances Ha.
As for his acting, I've always loved his brief but memorable appearance as Pontius Pilate in The Last Temptation of Christ.
And then there's Labyrinth. Not exactly a great film, but I'll always love it for introducing me (and, presumably, most of my generation) to Bowie.

One of my favorite Bowie music movie moments, especially from recent memory.

RIP Michael Cimino.
A controversial figure, but his talent as a writer/director was undeniable. He just didn't get enough opportunities to show it.

Well, since Mando's got me thinking about David Lynch...
"And wanna apologize to you gentlemen for referrin' to ya as homosexuals." Makes me laugh every time.

Best closing line in movie history? It has no relevance to the plot, whatsoever. But could you possibly end a movie on a happier note than that?

Apparently Curtis Hanson died recently. Not a major name in film history, but he did direct LA Confidential, and that is a damn good movie, so here's to him.
