That was one of the best MMA shows I've ever seen. That main card was just fantastic stuff. I still don't think McGregor beats Aldo but damn it if he didn't prove why he deserves the title shot more than anyone tonight.

I said it BEFORE this fight and I'ma say it again. Conor McGregor is going to beat Jose Aldo. lol I understand people are going to keep doubting him because It's hard to say Aldo is going to lose to anybody because he's looked so unbeatable. I just see something very special in Conor and believe he'll get it done.
Dear god this was my favorite show I may have ever seen. Robbie vs Rory was a WAR probably the best fight his year. We saw some of the best KO's of the year, best fights of the year.
I usually get the ppvs free but I had to pay for this one and It was worth every penny.

Still gotta favor Aldo because he's Aldo and he's a defensive master, but McGregor's high volume, pressure, and body-work is definitely not a good look for Aldo. That's why I always thought that Aldo was a better opponent for McGregor than Mendes. And well...look how that turned out. I do think the fight might've looked a bit different with Mendes off of a full training camp as his cardio seemed pretty suspect, but Conor's body work also played a huge role in that. Either way, I'm also glad I don't have to throw my Aldo/McGregor video away Oh, and McGregor kills Edgar.

I only caught the two title fights. Robbie vs Rory was a war! They fucked each other all up! So happy Robbie won... had me scared at the end of the 3rd when Rory wobbled him with that head kick. I'm glad Conor won. Jose vs Conor is gonna be bananas! Mini Mendes showed terrible fight IQ. He was a stationary punching bag on the feet & then would give up top position to go for guillotines on the ground. What a doofus. Really hope he doesn't get another whiff of title gold. Oh, and McGregor kills Edgar. How? Frankie wouldn't stand still with his back against the cage & let Conor tee off on him. Frankie wouldn't give up top position to go for half-assed guillotines. Frankie wouldn't crumble when Conor hits him. Conor vs Frankie would probably look more like Frankie vs Cub, not Conor vs Mendes.

Still gotta be a Debbie downer even after a big win? lol Can't ever let that guy win.
Comparing Conor McGregor to Cub Swanson is a bit funny to me but I'll just leave it at that. Conor beat the #1 ranked guy, an amazing wrestler just like everyone wanted to see if he could do.
He's fighting Jose Aldo next and that's that. I don't get the Edgar talk right now.

I'm not knocking Conor! I'm happy he won. I'm just shitting on Mini Mendes & reiterating the points I made 2 weeks ago when I said Frankie was way more deserving than Chad. Only comparing Conor & Cub in the sense that they're both flashy strikers... nothing more. Again, only bringing up Frankie cause I'm still flabbergasted that dd thinks Frankie would've been the easier fight for Conor. Conor bless.

A really enjoyable fight, Conor wasn't too impressive on the ground imo (might have been due to Chad's wrestling) but he looks like he can hold position until he stands back up at least. His power on that rear straight is freaky also. Frankie vs Conor is a really interesting fight also.

Quite an enjoyable fight. Conor remains to be my favorite thing in UFC and really the only thing I pay attention to. He's so damn entertaining. I loved his cockiness in the ring, and him winning it just made it so much better. Looking forward to McGregor vs Aldo.

Interesting choice of coaches, The UFC has struggled with TUF ratings for years now and this seems like the final swing for this show to get some good ratings.

Damn, did Frankie Edgar run over Dana's cat or something? First Mendes gets the title shot that Frankie deserved, now Urijah gets a coaching gig against Conor & they aren't even gonna fight in the end. You've got huge fights with Jose & Frankie on the horizon for Conor. Ugh, I don't get it. Does this mean Conor's gonna be inactive while he coaches TUF?
Anywaaaaays, how about that KO from Wonderboy. Ellenberger must've been all sorts of fucked up from that first spinning hook kick to not see the second one coming from a mile away.
I think Jorge Masvidal won me over tonight. He's still a lightweight in my eyes, comes in & KO's a guy who was a pretty big middleweight, then has the balls to call out Matt Brown afterwards.
Glad to see the Karate Hottie looking good & getting the win in her debut. That armbar Magana had her in had me wincing (seeing the torque on her elbow/forearm & Herb Dean's head in the frame gave me flashbacks of Mir/Sylvia)... great job in keeping her composure & getting out of it. And she came off incredibly likeable in the post-fight interview. I can see her becoming a big star.
That Blanco/de la Torre stoppage was pretty bad. If the dude has the wherewithal to keep himself from falling flat on his back & can work right into a single leg on his opponent, I don't care how wobbly he is, he deserves the chance to keep on fighting.
I loved the Sanders vs Doane fight. Those grappling exchanges were beautiful.

189 was really a thing of beauty. Amazing fights, so many great finishes, and Robbie vs. Rory for god's sake. Last night's was also pretty pretty good. I'm so happy to have watched both those cards that I almost didn't give a fuck about everybody (bar Robbie) looking like MLS players during their entrances.
- Bermudez vs. Stephens could've been fight of the night on any other card, I wanted Dennis to win but I was so happy with that fight. Great slugfest.
- Gunnar Nelson's somebody to watch out for I think, his pace and his style could get some of the WWs in trouble. Definitely one of the guys I will watch moving forward. Oh and Brandon Thatch didn't learn nothing from fighting Bendo? Did exactly the same, gave his back and did little to defend the RNC. Poor guy.
- Robbie vs. Rory, my god, that was beautiful. Early FOTY candidate I'd say. Rory's so badass, and Robbie absolutely neutralized his ground game and forced him into his game. Both man did amazing and I would love a rematch.
- Mendes vs. McGregor. It was going exactly how I thought it would, and then Chad went for a sloppy guillotine and gassed. See? This is exactly what we've been saying. Conor's really good, not to take anything from him, but if Chad had stuck to that game plan and kept that grinding GNP, the title was his. This fight showed that Conor's an amazing striker, and can take some good shots. It also showed that Frankie would grind him into dust, and take the title from him. Like I said before, Aldo would've been an easier fight given Conor's style, than Mendes, but Frankie's the worst possible matchup for him. Unwavering in his movement, a heavy grinding game, iron chin, that's a nightmare for someone like Conor.
- Wonderboy with the highlight reel ko. Would love to see him against Carlos Condit. He's definitely champ material.
- Masvidal doing really good against a guy who looked like he was gonna kill him. Great for him.
- Michelle Waterson <3. Great fight but also <3.
Two more cards then Dillashaw vs. Barao II. So pumped!

Does this mean Conor's gonna be inactive while he coaches TUF? There's a rumor going around that Conor may have something going on with his knee again. In the post fight interview Conor himself even alluded to having 'a hell of a lot more wrong with me than a bruised rib', but who knows. If he does have to do some rehabbing then it's understandable they would put him on TUF to keep him strong in the public eye while he recovers.

I dunno, I'm pretty sure Magalhaes tapped before they fell to the ground & Big John didn't break it up for another few seconds or so. Probably just upset the choke was held for so long.

They had beef going into the fight. He tried to shake his hand at the weigh ins too and Magalhaes told him he could "shake this dick" in Portuguese. lmao
Also like Ben said Michelle Waterson <3 , We MUST get the Penne rematch. The first fight for the 105 title was probably one of the best fights that year and one of the best WMMA fights I've ever seen. I'd love for them to do it again in the UFC.
Also I love Masvidal's attitude, the Matt Brown call out was perfect. I'd love to watch them throw down BUT I want to watch Matt Brown vs Condit even more. Welterweight is so fun right now! (other than Hendricks).
Thompson looked great, Crazy to see how far his wrestling has come and overall game. I also think it's time to send Jake to Bellator. -- ALSO! Personally I think they should have put a guy like Mighty Mouse on TUF and did a Flyweight/Mens BW season. I don't know if that would be good for ratings but both those Weight classes need some new faces + It could bring some attention to Mighty Mouse vs Dodson rematch.
