Also random comment, I've always randomly hated De la Hoya for some reason, could never put my finger on why but dude just rubs me the wrong way. I can never see him the same way again.

As an avid boxing fan I will always encourage newer fans to go watch the Gatti/Ward trilogy. Two guys that went all out and left it in the ring. Thank me later. That will be on my to-do list this weekend. What are some of your favorite JSC Sr. matches durty? The obvious one would be the first Taylor fight, them just standing in the center of the ring and banging it out as were most of his fights. Just putting so much pressure on somebody until they broke, very gritty and in your face is my favorite style. The 2nd De La Hoya fight was the first one I actually saw before looking back through tapes my step dad had (not sure where they are anymore unfortunately). Also random comment, I've always randomly hated De la Hoya for some reason, could never put my finger on why but dude just rubs me the wrong way. I was a year old when that first Taylor fight happened. Years later, when I actually sat down and watched Chavez Sr's fights with my dad and his friends he would keep mentioning that fight to me but he wasn't able to tape it. Years later, when I got a stable internet connection in my home I found the fight and we both watched it. My goodness what an amazing fight! And what a way for it to end. I just watched the HBO Legendary Nights show that talked about this battle and man, it's heart breaking what happened to Taylor. If anyone wants to watch it, here you go: I ALSO DID NOT LIKE DE LA HOYA EITHER! Just didn't jive with me.

Canelo vs Kirkland was the slugfest everyone predicted, and I loved it. That knockout was nasty stuff. Canelo vs Cotto or Canelo vs GGG? I'm good either way!

Also Cotto fights this weekend. GGG has stated he will be in attendance so if Cotto wins I hope GGG gets in the ring and confronts Cotto.

What a left hook by Cotto. Looks like Canelo is next for him, and hopefully the winner of that takes on GGG.

Broner got beat pretty decisively. He seemed really tentative after he got rocked early. A lot of people were mentioning how it seems the Maidana fight has affected him more than originally thought and I agree with them. He didn't have a good fight and his constant clinching was ridiculous. That knockdown on the 12th was pretty crazy though.

Agreed. AB ain't the same anymore. Hated how Tony Weeks was letting all of Broner's shit go on for so long, took him long enough to take that point away.

Maf, you see the Bradley/Vargas fight? I was only able to catch the last two rounds, but that ending was rather amusing. Ref thinking the 10 second clap was the bell, thats amateur hour! Especially when Vargas connected and hurt Bradley right before. Don't think Vargas woulda capitalized in those 7 seconds, but the possibility that he could've make it entertaining.

I didn't get a chance to see it but I caught the youtube clip and man that was embarrassing! Bradley was seconds from being taken out and to have it stopped because of that was a joke.

Have you read this article Maf? It's really insightful about a fighter who is on the cusp of PPV stardom. Just really interesting stuff. If both guys win their next fights, Canelo-Golovkin is gonna be bank on PPV in 2016.

He's got charisma for sure but I can't see him connecting with a larger audience than people who already watch boxing. It's more likely that someone like Canelo, who's already a big star and has the huge Mexican fanbase to draw from will be the next guy. Canelo/GGG if it happens will be amazing though. This is another good article. Jack Slack is the best at breaking down anything combat sports related.
