Screw Angelico's crazy dives, Pimpinela may be the greatest thing I've seen in Lucha Underground. Agreed 1000%!

How great has the buildup for Vampiro vs Pentagon Jr. been? Seriously my favorite thing happening in wrestling right now. I'm not even sure Vamp is still capable of having a decent match. He certainly doesn't look to be in any kind of shape. But I know I'm hyped to see these two square off at Ultima Lucha. (Assuming that's the endgame here. I haven't read the spoilers.)

2 weeks left Good news is Ultima Lucha is absolutely stacked. Not a fan of the TNA gimmick they added to Hernandez vs Drago though. The Fenix deal they did this week made no sense either.

Ultima Lucha is going to be the wrestling event of the summer as far as I'm concerned! How refreshing it is to have a wrestling event that actually feels like the inevitable payoff to multiple angles. By contrast, SummerSlam feels like it's just going to be the next twist in a never-ending storyline.

Summerslam will probably be a good show just to pop the Network subscriber count, then we'll go back to this lethargic state until Survivor Series when they need to get another good number. I'm also with AD with his excitement for Ultima Lucha. They really did a great job having all the storylines converge at this one event. I am looking forward to every match on the show and I know they will deliver. I just realllly hope they get another season.

If you haven't been watching... thanks man, I've actually been waiting for something like this. Always find it hard to start something new because of the catching up process.

Man I'm going to miss Lucha Undergound when it's gone. Ultima Lucha delivered in spades. I wasn't thrilled when they announced Mack/Cage because their past matches (especially the one they had in PWG a few years back) weren't that great but this match was great. The trios match was spectacular if only for the story stuff and Angelico topping his dive. I wasn't a fan of the stipulation in the main event at first but what a fun match that was. I don't know if they were plants or whatever but everyone played their part perfectly. I loved the look of sheer terror on that one guy when Hernandez took away his belt.
Next week should be even better. I hope Puma loses the title though, he's probably the least interesting character on the show.

Oh, Puma's going down. Mil Muertes will become the champ, and Fenix is taking the Gift of the Gods match. So next season they can continue their feud with the belt added to the mix. I mean, if this were WWE they'd probably do the exact opposite, but LU's booking has actually made pretty good sense so far. So I'm fairly confident that's how it's happening.

J/K ...and I didn't even read the spoilers! But that whole thing about their booking being logical sort of went out the window with all that Vampiro/Pentagon stuff after the match. None of that made any logical sense, but I loved it anyway. The fan reaction shots were priceless. And on a related note, Pentagon Jr. is the Stone Cold Steve Austin of Lucha Underground. Meaning that, based on the way he's booked, he should be the most hated man in the company, but the fans just won't stop cheering him because he's such an awesome badass.

I think (and I'm really going out on a limb) Pentagon knew he wanted Vampiro to be his mentor but had to goat him out of retirement, fight him and defeat him in order to prove to himself that he was ready to go after Mil Muertes. I'm more than positive that's the road we are going down if there is a season 2. I wonder if that was their intent? He is a rudo through and through, but he is such an enigmatic character and great wrestler that no matter what you do with him he will always get cheered. Needless to say, if you haven't seen this show you really need to go out of your way to watch it. If this is the end, they went out on the highest of high notes. But that ending though....
