MVZee
Induction by Rev
Ask any MVZ member their top 5 singles editors from the sites' history, and each list would differ. Ask any member to list their top 5 tag-team editors, and while #2-4 may differ, that number one spot better belong to our next inductees, Maf and zee , together known as MVZee.
You know the saying "think outside the box?" Well, MVZee took that phrase to a whole other level, putting together an entire MV catalog featuring some of the most creative video ideas and forward-thinking topics. In their video "One Match," MVZee honored 20 years of Wrestlemania but the way they presented it was incredible. One common editing trick is using clips with similar moves and/or camera angles, and piecing it in a way where its just one fluid shot. Well, MVZee took that one step forward by making the whole damn video one fluid shot as if it were a single match. Then theres my favorite video from them, "100 Things To Do Before You Retire." One of the most creative videos in MVZ history, the video itself is a list of 100 things a wrestler must accomplish before they retire. It's videos like these that I'll pull up from time to time and it''' remind me again why I still love pro wrestling.
Then theres one of their recent videos "How I Met My Tag Partner," which ended the trilogy of matches MVZee had against myself and JRoc. Going into the match, JRoc and I thought we created our best tag video with Adam Cole, but here comes MVZee with another feel-good classic. Inspired by one of my favorite tv shows ever How I Met Your Mother, I remember thinking to myself, "those fuckers," when you guys recreated the shows' intro cause I knew our match, as well as the rivalry, was over after that. While MVZee held the tag division down for years, MVMafia and Zee each held their own as singles editors. For Zee, I'd recommending checking out "Bad Kids," a Freaks and Geeks tribute, as well as "The Arrival of the Strangefolk," an interesting take on TNA's problems. For MVMafia, his "Conan" vid is a delightful watch as a Conan O'Brien fan, and also "This Town" is another feel-good video.
Our tag rivalry will go down as a favorite memory of mine here. Speaking for JRoc and myself, we had to step it up as editors each time we faced you guys because we knew you were going to come up with something wild. Our trash-talk exchanges were hilarious, and it was always in good fun. Me and J are still you certain you aren't brothers, or two people for that matter, but really just one person pretending to be a tag-team.
Beyond editing, MVZee were instrumental in keeping the MVZ afloat. When I started booking here, I asked you guys to join the Booking Committee because I knew you guys had some great ideas for the site. I was fortunate that you both said yes, because together along with AD, we created some of the finest looking cards. I'm proud to look back at the competitions we ran because a lot of those featured some of the wildest dream-matches. I always wanted to thank you guys for all those competitions, especially during those frustrating times we had to scramble, like when we had to do Champion vs Champions match between you two and AD. Then there were those non-comp ideas you guys had, like that impossible scavenger hunt! I remember nobody was able to get past the 5th step, when there were still 15 more steps to go. So thanks again for bringing your creativity to the BC!
As editors, MVZee took chances with their endless creativity, and in turn were rewarded with multiple title reigns and numerous classic videos. And as bookers, MVZee contributed in making The MV Zone one of the happiest communities to be a part of. It is my honor and privilege to induct MVMafia and Zee, collectively known as MVZee, into the 2017 MVZ Hall of Fame!
