First off, full disclosure, Nintendo guy here.
That conference was bad. Like us last year bad. There was SILENCE through most of the Natal stuff. And your big blockbusters? Halo Reach, GOW 3 and Call of Duty? 1 of which isn't exclusive, and all of which we already knew about. (Also, Halo can fuck right off.)
Crytek make good tech, but are 50/50 on games, and the shameless bribery at the end? What is this, Opera?
I really hope Nintendo's isn't like last year, otherwise all my hope for the next year of gaming is down the pan.

Gears 3 looked amazing! Sony/Nintendo are gonna have to come up with something big to compete with ESPN. That new 360 looks pretty sweet. The Metal Gear Solid: Rising demo was cool (& I hate Japanese games). Nothing else impressed me from Microsoft. Kinect is ok, but I'm never gonna play it.
Can somebody post a gif of that dorky white guy dancing during the Dance Central demo?

First off, full disclosure, Nintendo guy here. That conference was bad. Like us last year bad. There was SILENCE through most of the Natal stuff. And your big blockbusters? Halo Reach, GOW 3 and Call of Duty? 1 of which isn't exclusive, and all of which we already knew about. (Also, Halo can fuck right off.) I really hope Nintendo's isn't like last year, otherwise all my hope for the next year of gaming is down the pan. I agree with flammable on this one. It was pretty bad. It started off pretty good with the demo from CoD: Black Ops. The helicopter portion was pretty cool. Everything else looked pretty much like Modern Warfare 2, at least it did to me. Also, Microsoft & Activision struck a deal where future DLC for Black Ops will appear first on Xbox 360. The deal will be from 2010 - 2012. Then we got a gameplay trailer for MGS: Rising that looked really cool. You can slice and dice people like nothing! I'm really looking forward to this. And the last bit with the slicing of the watermelon: lol! Then we got to the Gears 3 demo. My reaction the whole time was !!!!!! + . It looks so much faster and just more insane action happening everywhere. I can't believe we have to wait a year for it, but it looks to be well worth it. Fable III was meh to me. Haven't played any of them so I don't have a good understanding of the series. As was Crytek's new game exclusively for the 360, Codename: Kingdom. I just know of them for making Crysis, which I haven't played it. It may interest some people, but not me. Halo: Reach looked great. I haven't been this excited for a Halo game since H3, and that was a big disappointment. I'm surprised they're doing space battles. That was an eye opener. ESPN on 360 is a cool addition to Live, I'm not gonna use it a whole lot because I might as well watch it on TV. But the fact that is free makes this a whole lot easier to not write off. If I had to pay for it, I'd probably bash it. Free is free so I can't complain...unless it's that stupid Yaris game...it's been 2+ years and I still haven't gotten over that shitty game. And now we get to Kinect. Oh my gosh that was horrible. The tech demos from last year look alot better than the ones they showed today. And it kept going on, and on, and on. All of those games look fun for like a week, and that's pretty much it. It loses it's appeal and you trade it in. I'm not getting one anytime soon. Oh, and if anyone cares, it's coming out November 4th. The price? I HAVE NO CLUE! They didn't bother to tell us that, which means it's going to be at least $150. But all was not lost, they did debut the slim 360 with built in WiFi and it's coming....this week! Wow, I did not expect that one. The price? $299! It's the same price! If they're is a good trade in deal for it, I'll definitely get one. If not then I'll wait. To sum up my response in one minute, it's this: screwattack.com/videos/Exclusive-Microsoft-Press-Conference-Recap?utm_medium=bt.io-twitter&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_content=backtype-tweetcount

Decent showing from EA... I say decent cause I probably won't end up playing any of those games.
Why do people get so excited about games like Star Wars: The Old Republic, when all they ever show are these wildly cinematic HD cut scenes that look absolutely nothing like the actual gameplay? The gameplay ends up being a crappy MMORPG we've already seen a billion times before with the same ugly ass graphics from 1998 just like every other MMORPG. Well, I guess I'm just trying to say I hate MMORPG's.

Holy shit balls... Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier looks fuckin' incredible! The first half of that demo is what I wanted from Splinter Cell Conviction. It's like Splinter Cell, Modern Warfare, & Gears all rolled up into one. And Joel McHale's running commentary was hilarious. I didn't hear a release window though... when does this come out?!?!?!

WOW! Did Nintendo bring the heat or what!? What a complete reversal of last year's show to this. I was surprised they announced The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword so early. From the first glances of it, it looked like a more complete version of Link's Crossbow Training. But as Miyamoto kept playing the game, it did seem to win me over somewhat. It's Zelda, so it's not going to be too difficult to persuade me to buy it. I am a little worried since it just looks to be introducing non-gamers to the franchise instead of moving it forward, but we'll see. Mario Sports Mix looks fun to play, but only as a rental. But, that's not to say it's going to be bad, it just looks like something that is only fun for a couple of hours with friends, and that's it. Totally not meant to be played solo. It's a party game so I shouldn't be too harsh on it. I'm surprised Wii Party hasn't been made any sooner. I guess the best way to put it is Mii + Mario Party = This. Not interested. Just Dance 2 - Golden Sun: Dark Dawn looks cool. Never played any of the games beforehand, so I'm hoping to get some of them on Gamefly and understand the franchise. To me, it's seems to be one of the last BIG DS games before the 3DS comes out. The other being Pokemon Black & White. Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is releasing this holiday. The GoldenEye 007 remake looks just like the N64 version. Which isn't a bad thing since they didn't come right out and say it was going to be anything different. I do like they're keeping splitscreen, which is to me the best way to play multiplayer gaming. But where's Pierce Brosnan? He is Goldeneye. Regardless, we won't have to wait too long to play it. It's coming out this November. Warren Spector demoed Epic Mickey on stage, which looked gorgeous. The guy who was playing it seemed to have some trouble with some of the jumps in the game, but that doesn't matter. I do like the drawing & erasing mechanic in the game, it seems just like Okami in that way. He also said that "Play style matters" in the way you play. When you erase the world around you, characters act different towards you. And if you play it like a noble hero, the same effects are the same but they didn't explain what the consequences would be if you chose to play it like that. All in all, it looks to be the mickey game alot of people have been waiting for. Then they announced Kirby's Epic Yarn which looked really fun to play. The look of it is exactly that, strings of yarn pulled together around you and you manipulate it to affect the gameplay. Plus, it's staying true to it's roots with side scrolling goodness. Awesome. It's releasing this fall. At that point, I was very happy with the conference overall. That's when they dropped the big one. They announced Donkey Kong Country: Returns!!! I was just completely blown away that not only they kept it a secret this long without it getting out until this past sunday night. The game looks amazing. Graphics are lush and gorgeous, it's side scrolling, and we won't have to wait too long to get it. It comes out this fall! YES!!!! If that wasn't enough, then we got the announcement of the Nintendo 3DS. It has the same look as the DS, has a 3D slider which you can intensify or just completely turn off the 3D on the handheld, but why would you do that? It still has a touch screen at the bottom of the handheld, plus analog & d-pad controls which is nice. It's backwards compatible with your DS games & has a camera that is capable of taking 3D images. They started talking about a game called "Project: Sora" which I immediately thought would be a Kingdom Hearts game. Then they showed the trailer to it, and low and behold, it's Kid Icarus: Uprising! OMG! After that, they showed a slew of developers currently making games for the 3DS, such as Konami, Activision, Capcom, THQ and others. They also teased a Star Fox game could be coming out on the 3DS at some time. I haven't been this excited for Nintendo is a LONG time. This was the conference hardcore nintendo fans have been waiting for, and nintendo delivered and more so. Sony is just about to start, let's see if they can muster up any buzz like Nintendo just made.

Donkey Kong Country was one of the games I adored growing up. I'm really regretting giving my mom the Wii. EDIT: THE TWISTED METAL REMAKE RUMORS ARE TRUE! FUCK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! EDIT2: Not watching E3 ATM, but ice powers in inFAMOUS 2? What? By the way, for all PSN users, you can visit E3 in Playstation Home. Apparently, they have a booth set up of some sort, and you're able to watch it, I think.

Cause I'd rather have fun than just look at something purdy. I'd rather have something that looks purdy & plays well without having to worry about outdated graphics & tacked on waggle controls that rarely work like they're supposed to & got old a week after the Wii came out. And on that note, I hope Kinect & Move FAIL on a massive scale. Let's end this silly motion control fad once & for all!
