cheeze - Well, I've long suspected that you're secretly Jack Jackel, and I guess this confirms it Such a fun idea, and perfect for the big anniversary show. I remember being super impressed by the original way back when, so doing a cover version is such a cool idea. And of course you brought back the mask changing colors too! I remember that effect blowing my mind back then, and it's still cool as hell. Not sure if TM II is really the spiritual predecessor of Dragon Kid (Ultimo Dragon, it's right there ), but you definitely made it work, and made TMII look much better than he actually was, haha. The song is so much fun and perfect for this kind of video too. You did a great job covering the unmasking, loved the color effects with TM and Misawa hitting the same moves with different color tights. I remember trying to do a similar thing, showing Misawa's transition from TM with both hitting similar moves and cutting back and forth and getting advice from Eric how to showcase this...ten and a half years ago. Jesus, now I feel old. Great stuff.
rev - God damn, you've done it again. Never would've considered the old Adam Pearce theme as the perfect song for a Stan Hansen tribute, but you made it fit like a glove, because of course you did. This had all the hallmarks of a classic rev video. Great song choice, fantastic looking text and effects, very interesting topic selection, and it of course absolutely kicked ass. I've never seen anybody make somebody hitting the ropes seem as impactful and badass as you did at 0:15. The "gone blind" lyric cracked me up. Editing was absolutely on point of course, in particular enjoyed cutting back and forth between him hitting the same moves and the slap montage around the 1:30 mark. Perfectly conveying his character, moveset, and great facial expressions. The only (very very minor) complaint I can even remotely come up with is that I maybe wouldn't have saved up all the lariats until the very end, because they deserved some bigger beats that the song just didn't offer up anymore. And of course boo on not including the 93 top rope lariat on Kobashi Just fantastic fun, and a video I'll for sure rewatch dozens of times.
Winner - Two great videos, the great series continues. Loved cheeze's tribute video idea and the execution was great, but that just can't compete with Stan The Man, I'm sorry. Rev takes it.
Cheeze: Woah!!! Tiger Mask II was pretty dope (but has nothing on Tiger Mask IMO lol). But getting to the video. This was soooooooo incredibly fun, I found myself really enjoying the flow of this, the editing here was super smooth and I loved the move cuts you made thoughout the video. Some fxs like those flickering twitches you used at the drums were real slick and the impact shakes looked so good. The sin city type of effect you used with the color of the mask change you used like twice was another really fantastic touch, it looked perfect. The usage of film_damage was really nice as it fit the old atmosphere from those AJPW times. The song you used even though I don't understand exactly what it means (didn't understand anything), seemed to really vibe well with TM II as it has that anime OP vibe to it and Tiger Mask is one of the most known characters in puro anime. I loved how you then introduced Misawa, who became one of the most popular wrestlers in AJPW and one of the best wrestlers I have ever seen, and how you made the transiton from TM II to Misawa doing the same move it was another real dope touch. I can tell you felt so confortable and really loved editing this. I loved this video so much man. Just an amazing edit overall.
Rev: Damn man, this was another amazing showing! Stan Hansen really is the man, at least, after I watched this gem. To start off, I think your text work is simply the most fun and aesthetic there is. The way you used it at Stan's entrance really stuck up with me. The editing itself is as smooth and fantastic as always, loved those move cuts especially at the DDTs, suicidas and back suplexes. The overlays you use are so aesthetic and really make your videos even more special. The going blind lyric sync with Vader touching his eye was so cool LOL. The way at a point you let the fast drum beats go while Stan was doing those slaps was such a satisfying sync to watch, simple and yet effective. Also those flickery colours you used are pretty nice and the black and white CC really fit well with the old vibe of the song, combined with the overlays, they just look beautiful. You really made Stan Hansen the most badass motherfucker on the planet, so kudos to you! Just another amazing edit from you my man, I thought this ruled so much!
Vote: I first thought it was gonna be Rev when I watched his video, then I watched cheeze's and wanted to vote for him and then I just watched both and honestly I think I will just go with Cheeze. He gets this one. I loved both videos so much, so it was really hard to vote. Awesome match guys.
Cheeze: Really fun video. Love the clip selection and how you synced up all the moves, reminded me a bit of how bless would edit. With the colour of his mask changing to then having Tiger Masks mask ripped of to show some sort of rage and new persona towards the end was really sweet (love it how you made a black and white effect on the strong part looked sweet too). The editing here was spot on too, the song was a great choice to, must have been really fun to edit too. Great job overall.
Stan: Wow Stan Simpson, you edited yourself how cool. This intro was really sweet, great job on that. This video was nice, loved that overlay (can u hook me up with it please). The move correlation was sweet I love the dropkick and power bomb parts. Really fun song choice too, a lot of good lyrical syncs throughout and you did a really good job with this song. Awesome work overall, really fun watch.
CheeZe: Wow, I thought everything about this was super fun and entertaining and the song just set the stage for you perfectly. The transitions were truly something to be in awe of, they ever sooooo smooth and probably my favorite thing in the video. The mask color change near the beginning and later in the video and the unmasking at the end were such great touches. I couldn’t help but think throughout watching how much this reminded me of an Awesome Dude video, and I sincerely mean that with the utmost respect because I think you are one of the best most consistent editors on this site now. Another fantastic video and I am still in awe that you and Rev are putting out three videos each of this elite caliber.
Rev: Man I won’t go into super long detail because I’m sure you are sick of hearing feedback from me but this video was so complimentary to CheeZe’s video, so I must say you guys are very well matched up again and I know it’s gonna be a close vote. I mentioned above that CheeZe’s video reminded me of an Awesome Dude video and I think I can safely say the same about this one! From the fun song, to the interesting character, to the great effects, overall just so fun and entertaining!
Winner: After multiple viewings of each, I was just into Rev’s a little more. Another great showing by both!
CheeZe: Ooof!! Tiger Mask and Asian KungFu Generation!? That's gotta be the best combination ever! Always happy to see a Misawa video and this might be the best Tiger Mask 2/Misawa vid I've seen! The idea of making this video based of another video that inspired you is such a unique idea! The whole aesthetic of this video gives off 2000s vibes and I love it so much. There's not many effects going on throughout the video, but it doesn't need any effects to make this video as fun as it already is. The song gives a fun vibe that makes the viewer feel happy and sort of energetic. And with the combo of high flying, acrobatic, Kung Fu looking moves from early Misawa, it makes the video even more fun and super addicting to watch! Although the effects you did use were so well done and fit the whole vibe. Especially those amazing looking hue changes! That long clip around 0:24 was risky and experimental of you to do, but I love it. You did a well job at making those hue changes match the beat of the song. I think my favorite effect that you added tho was the white shaky line at the right side of the video. Although it's simple, it expresses the old vibes the viewer should be getting from the video, especially since in old footage one usually sees dirt or dust on it, and full of scratches and white lines on the side. And the last 30 seconds with the transition to Misawa was toooo perfect! That was nuts and it made me fangirl lol. It also kind of makes the hue changes make sense since the colors of his tights change from purple/orange to green and white. There's no better way to end this video. Outstanding! Hope you make a sequel to this with a Misawa/post Tiger Mask vid!
Rev: Mr. world-wide coming back with another mesmerizing video! I love how all your videos have such a different feel to them. It's like you create a whole other world for each of them. In your last video, you give off late 2000's vibes with the pop punk song and very old school editing. And in this video your giving off 80's type vibes with the bright neon moving lights - which were so beautiful and pretty! And the little colorful blurry flares gave the video a very nice look as well. Not only is the whole aesthetic different from your last video, but even the editing is as well. This is much more fast paced and super quick which matches Hansen's chaotic style of wrestling. And you captured his stiff strikes perfectly, especially when they were being synced with a rough beat like at 1:27-1:33. There were also plenty of times where I thought the video was about to end regardless of how short it was such as 1:46 or 1:56 where the beat gets slower. I was happy tho that the video kept going. Would have loved to see more. Although it might have dragged on had this been a lot more longer so it's good you kept it short and fast. Oh and the outro was a fantastic way of using that new awesome sig Leelee made! Another masterpiece added to your body of work.
Another fun match, and better than the last match even tho the first match was phenomenal! The third match is going to be epic!

You guys really know how to make voting hard... First of all I love how both of you chose puro legends and showcased them because they are not mentioned much today, especially Tiger Mask II phase of Misawa.
Cheeze: I really love song choice and how well it fit the video, you managed to showcase that fast fun pace of Tiger Mask! Color change of mask was soooo creative that I had to rewatch it a few times. This entire video feels more like of an entrance video than an actual music video how perfectly it fits the theme, I just can't describe how well it fits! Sync is just on point, entire pace is very exciting and it kept invested entire time. I could just see how much care was put into this and that ending showcasing what Misawa as a wrestler has taken from his past character was just a cherry on top! Absolutely beautiful!!
Rev: Like I said for Cheeze, it feels like an entrance video how well the song fits with edit! This video shows how effects are not that important and I swear you are a master of overlays! I was so entertained by the video that I swear it felt like it was a minute shorter than it actually was, pace was so fun and you get completely drawn into it! Like I said for Cheeze this edit also has a lot of care put into it and it reminds me why I would never want to take a lariat from Hansen lol. And that effect on the last lariat was just wonderful! Truly a masterpiece!
You guys just amaze me, how you managed to change the style in 2nd week and keep it so fresh and entertaining! I can't wait to give you my feedback for 3rd match!
CheeZe This was such a fun watch dude! This is so much different than any of your previous videos, but still has all the incredible qualities that makes your videos so great. Besides the twixtor. But man this was such a blast to watch! incredible song choice, the editing as normal I dont need to speak on but man do you kill at as usual. Your so god damn good at move transitions. The CCs were great and love the B+W but mask changing colors. The bit towards the end where he takes off his mask on was fucking brilliant man. Just another incredible video my guy.
Rev Man can you guys stop doing this thing were your so fucking good at this Editing thing? God damn this was brilliant! I have heard of him but never watched a Stan Hansen match in my life, and man do I feel like I know everything about him by watching this video. And the most impressive thing about that is you didn't even use one promo! That is the sings of a great editor. The fucking CCs and overlays again man, you kill it. Works so perfect and look so damn good. I dont need to speak on the editing but jesus man is it perfect, in every way. That powerbomb section is my favorite part of the video, I dont really watch wrestling anymore but this video makes me want to go on youtube and watch some Stan Hansen matches. Incredible work again sir.
Man you guys keep knocking it out of the park! Incredible work to the both of you gentlemen.
Cheeze: Ever since you started doing whatever you want its just been gem after gem I don't know much about Tiger Mask but you made this 2nd phase of it look great the editing here was so crisp and highlighted his move set fantastically and your fx really complimented the older footage the changing hue effect had a really nice old school vibe and that sin city effect is becoming synonymous with you've been using it so well.
Rev: Not enough chewing tobacco jk, Your aesthetic at the start looks really cool here idk how you made neon work with black betty but it didn't feel off something bout his lariats are just so pleasing to watch him take the other guys head off you made his hard hitting style look so good with the song loved that powerbomb segment even tho cheeze ruined the way I see that last clip with the lyrics lol.
Vote - Rev, these 2 were really close came down to preference and watching Stan take peoples heads off is just fun especially with black betty.

Like I said before, you two have inadvertently rekindled my interest in wrestling MVs - and that’s a fire that I thought was long extinguished.
CheeZe: everything about this was so much fun! The editing is so smooth that it makes me hate you a little. The subtle camera shakes and dirt effect looked beautiful and complimented the video - it’s difficult to make those effects work without feeling cliche, but you pulled it off wonderfully. The mask color change at 2:24 felt like a nod to the early days of MVZ when everyone used that effect on Windows Movie Maker - I’m not sure if that was intentional or not, but it was a great throwback! Finally, the Tiger Mask / Misawa dive transition at 2:41 is one of my favorite things I’ve seen in a video in a long time! Wonderful work here! I’ve never faced you in a singles match, and I think that is a bucket list thing for me now.
Rev: One of my most watched videos of the competition. I’ve mentioned already how much I love this. The text and 80’s neon was a wonderful touch. The song choice is one of those perfect marriages of song and subject - it doesn’t happen often, but when it does the video is always special! This video just makes me happy! Seeing a big man doing big man things to a throwback song...it brings so much joy! The “blind” lyric sync was funny and wonderful! The effects were top notch also. More than any of us “old timers”, you have found a way to stay true to classic MVZ style while actively embracing everything that makes the newer styles so special. I am very envious of that, and I think that’s the truest testament to your talent.
This is my favorite match of the entire competition, and probably my favorite wrestling MV match in years. If someone wanted to make a case for it being a Top Five of all time match, I definitely wouldn’t argue that fact. This is such a difficult vote to cast, as I love both videos so much and both deserve to win. You fellas really did something special with this Three Stages match, and I hope you’re both very proud of what you accomplished. I know that I’m proud!
CheeZe: I really love this, the editing is so smooth! The black&white thing you did with the drum fills were amazing. imo shakes weren't really necessary, but still you used them so well that it wasn't a problem at all. Really enjoyable!
Rev: The vibe in this is just perfect. Intro, text, song.. Also the editing was so amazing, especially with the overlays. That blur transition was really cool as well. Overall this video was so fun to watch. Amazing stuff!
Cheeze - Very smooth, man. I enjoyed the hell out of this. Definitely my favorite from you this competition. These twitch on impacts you added are my cup of tea--subtle, but enough to make the impact of the move look harder than it truly is. I really enjoyed it when it picked up at 0:58. However, with the film damage, I feel like the lines add too much distraction when added in during a faster paced section. The dust and scratches were great, though. Really well done on the remake, and a fantastic display of technical ability, while not going overboard.
Rev - That intro is one of, if not my favorite things from this competition--so beautiful. I don't know how you never considered yourself to be remembered for being an editor at one point. I really can't critique much of any thing on here. The editing was fun, up beat to "Black Betty." Another well done display of his in ring work, like Cheeze. More beautiful use of overlays. You go, Bert.
Vote - I think it's really unfair to vote against Cheeze on this one considering how much I truly enjoyed his, but I just can't with Bert anymore. Vote goes to Rev.
Cheeze: This was awesome man! I love that you were still able to add your twist to the video while keeping it fairly simple with your effects for example at 0:23 changing the mask colors, the shakes, overlay etc. The smooth chain editing was really nice and reminded me a lot of how AD does things which is very high praise. Siiick work man!
Rev: I was so excited when you first showed me this and I thought it was one of your best videos you've made (then you topped it same competition..) Much like Pick said, the intro is one of the best things this whole comp. When it comes to text work you're the best guy here easily. I'm usually the guy people talk about having really good overlays but you're starting to best me in that category. This really showed how stiff of a mf Stan Hansen was. Really great stuff!
CheeZe - LOVED the song choice for this one. I also thought the bits where you changed Tiger Mask's mask color was a neat touch, and you were perfectly on sync. The screen shakes and effects getting crazier as the song went hard was fun to watch, and the transition to Misawa was unexpected in a good way. Overall a solid video and I think you've really cracked down on your strengths lately.
Rev - Whewwww. This is hot fire. I'm a big time Hansen fan. The retro style intro and flashing red/green/yellow lights in the video were a nice touch and really sold the era this video was representing. Hansen knocking out Vader's eye matching up with the lyric got a pop from me, and I think it captured Stan da Man's legacy perfectly. To the point, flashy, and easy to the eyes. You and CheeZe make it tough to choose between the two of you lmao.
