I'll probably make a big post with a bunch of short reviews sometime soon (I've probably seen 30 or 40 movies since I last posted in the thread on the old boards), but for now I'll just mention the actual last movie I watched.
Sin Nombre (2009) - A harrowing emotional journey. Equal parts gut-wrenching and heartbreaking. One of the best movies of 2009.

Funny People- I seen it in theaters and liked it a lot...just watched it on blu-ray and reaffirmed why I liked it so much.

Anyone seen "Pirate Radio" or "The Lovely Bones"? I found screeners and I think I'm going to check them out today.

Anyone seen "Pirate Radio" or "The Lovely Bones"? I found screeners and I think I'm going to check them out today. Pirate Radio is pretty charming. It's way overlong, although I saw the UK release which is apparently fifteen minutes longer than the one we got. It offers no surprises whatsoever, but I enjoyed it. I thought The Lovely Bones was really awful. As much as I hear the book is great, the story presented in the movie is so shockingly bad, almost offensive, that I cannot fathom what makes it a good read. Peter Jackson must've really fucking missed the boat. If you're set on watching a screener, i'd suggest looking into Up in the Air, An Education, or The Messenger.

Yeah, I was really disappointed with The Lovely Bones...half of the movie felt like something that should be airing on Lifetime...and I thought the lead actress was pretty awful. I loved the concept of the film, but it was executed really poorly. I've been dying to see Up In The Air and An Education...haven't come across screeners yet though. I'll keep looking because I hear they are both worth a watch.

Watching "The Indestructable" man right now. Great job by the MST3K crew here. Next up is "Mr. B's Lost Shorts".
Gonna be a fun weekend ;D

The Final Destination (2009)
With the exceptions of a pretty cool opening credits sequence, Nick Zano playing the cliched douche, and the main girl in the movie being rather hot, don't even bother.
Want my advice for nonsense carnage, go watch Final Destination 2 instead.

^ The past Final Destination films have always been a guilty pleasure for me. But this one was atrocious. I felt they lowered the production value just to fit in the 3D gimmick. The 3D wasn't even that good.

I have only seen Final Destination 3, and I find it so over-the-top hilarious that I actually love that movie. Probably for the wrong reasons.

It's about 10X better than the third one. Plus, you're missing out on one of the best car crash sequences you'll ever see. EDIT:

College was the last movie I seen. It was probably one of my favorite comedy's I seen in 2009. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants a good laugh.
