In memory of Leonard Cohen you should all watch "McCabe and Mrs. Miller" this weekend.
One of the greatest movies of all time. And one of the best soundtracks thanks to the late singer/songwriter.

For some reason the death of Carrie Fisher hit me much harder than the average celebrity death. Probably had something to do with the importance of Star Wars in my childhood.
Anyway, here's a clip that has nothing to do with any of that. Her first film appearance, in Hal Ashby's "Shampoo"
Probably couldn't get away with that dialogue today.

RIP Tobe Hooper.
His influence on horror can not be overstated.
And they aren't exactly favorite films of mine, but his mid-eighties efforts "Lifeforce" and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" are so batshit crazy that they need to be seen to be believed.
But damn, these great baby boomer artists are just dropping like flies.

But damn, these great baby boomer artists are just dropping like flies. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 is the ultimate troll movie. He didn't want to do the same movie again, in fact, he didn't want to even direct but because of the budget he couldn't find a director to hire and was kinda forced to. Cannon Films wanted the same movie that Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1 was. So, Hooper decided screw it and went completely off the rails and emphasized more on the dark comedy and gore (oh boy is this movie a gorefest too). Like AD said, it really needs to be seen to be believed.

"We lost 19 of our best guys."
I made a complete spectacle of myself after that line when I saw this movie in the theater. I literally could not stop laughing for like 5 minutes.

Just read that Scott Wilson died. If you only know him as Hershel from The Walking Dead you might do yourself a favor and look into some of his earlier film work. Start with 1967's In Cold Blood.

William Goldman died today. He wrote two of the most quotable screenplays of all time.

Captain America nudging Mjolnir Seriously. I was fanboying out. In the comics, Captain America is one of the few humans to lift Mjolnir. In the MCU, we haven’t seen any mortals lifting Mjolnir. But Captain America is currently the first human to make Mjolnir move. And that’s saying something. This is the reason why Captain America is my favorite MCU character
