I could've sworn I posted a topic like this before... ANYWAYS. I need help with music. Basically, we're talking about Transcendentalism in my English class. Our teacher told us to to find a song with lyrics that have Transcendentalism meanings in them. He also said to try and pick a song from something that we listen to. I tried finding some things, and people mentioned "Mad World" by Gary Jules and "The Pretender" by Foo Fighters to have Transcendentalism meanings. I'm not sure how "Mad World" has a Transcendentalism meaning. But with how popular "The Pretender" is, and knowing that probably half of my class listen to Rock, I'm pretty sure that somebody would pick that. So, could somebody help by picking out songs from the Rock/Alternative Rock genre that has Transcendentalism meanings? Thanks in advance.

I'm not entirely sure what the "Transcendentalism" definition is, nor if it really can be easily defined.
"Fight to Save Your Life" by EleventySeven, seems like something that I could see possibly working, especially in a high school environment.

Basically, he pretty much said it's: - Individualism - Noncomformity - Inspiration through nature Not ALL of the above, but those are different meanings of it. This could still help, but I would still like a couple of other songs. Thanks though :3

I'd also throw out "A River Flows in the Desert" by So Long Forgotten
It certainly follows the Inspiration through nature aspect.

My main issue right now is that I can't find a place where I can listen to it. Not on YouTube, and not a torrent. Are there any other songs?

I really have no issue pming you any song you want to hear.

Alright, thanks, I appreciate it. Sorry if it's asking for too much or anything. Also, another theme of Transcendentalism is self-reliance, which led me to believe that "Boston" by Augustana could be considered a song with a Transcendentalism meaning to it. Any Rock or Alternative Rock song with any of the meanings would be highly appreciated though.
