Keiji Inafune announces Comcept's first game: The Island of Dr. Momo
It's sad that lately if you're reading a story with Keiji Inafune's name in the article, it's usually because Capcom is cancelling every game he had in development before he left. But that's not going to stop him from making new games with his newly formed studio, Comcept as they have formally announced their very first game titled The Island of Dr. Momo. It is an iOS/Android game for Japan's GREE social gaming service, and is scheduled to be released this fall. It will also be free to play, with the option to buy in-game items. The Island of Dr. Momo is about a mad scientist that combines animals, sound familiar?
The Gunstringer shoots to retail this September, along with $40 price tag, free DLC and Fruit Ninja Kinect.
To the uninitiated, The Gunstringer is Twisted Pixel's (of Mr. & Mrs. 'Splosion Man fame) first retail game. The story has you in the role as The Gunstringer, a sheriff that gets betrayed by your own posse. You rise from the dead and you're hell bent on revenge to your former cohorts. Twisted Pixel takes a somewhat different approach to this game than their previous ones because, obviously this is a Kinect game, you will use your whole body to control the Gunstringer. You control the character's movement by using your left hand, while the right is for aiming and shooting the character's gun. You will also be able to mark multiple enemies to fire at by making a firing gesture towards each one you want to shoot. There are certain moments in the game that morph into a rail-gun shooter that will allow you to use both hands to control two guns while the character moves along a pre-defined path. Another thing about Gunstringer that makes it stand out in the Kinect library is that you don't play levels, you play it as if you were acting it out on a theater performing in front a crowd. It starts with some live action footage in a theater where you have people attend to see the show and go from there.
Ok, now that I'm done describing how the game works, it's $40 and it comes with free DLC and a free game! If you have a Kinect, or looking to buy one in the near future, this might be the game you should think about picking up first.
