The HBO At Last special was tremendous. Showtime did a good job with the All Access but man did HBO just blow it out of the water. This fight sold itself but if anyone had any doubts about watching this, watch the At Last special. So good.
Chavez Jr. lost Saturday. Feel bad for him because of all that he's been through but he was pretty clearly outmatched. The beer throwing at the end was pretty ridiculous. Didn't watch Mathysse/Provodnikof but heard it was a p good fight. Bit ridiculous to challenge the winner of Mayweather/Pacquiao though as that clearly isn't going to happen. My money is Mayweather beating Pacquiao by decision then a rematch later this year as Mayweather's last fight.
Canelo faces Kirkland the week after Mayweather/Pacquiao! There's talks of Cotto wanting to face Canelo after and while that would be a good fight Cotto screwed himself already by not taking the fight when it was first offered to him.

This match was crap, Mayweather did not deserve to win, most of the match he was just trying to avoid pacquiao

The only people saying that the fight wasn't good and Floyd should have lost are the people who (in the words of Roger Mayweather) Don't know shit about boxing. lol
Look at the stats and open your eyes, Floyd Mayweather THREW AND LANDED way more than Manny. Then showed why he's the best defensive boxer ever by making Manny swing at air most of the time.
This is coming from somebody who regularly watches boxing not just when Floyd fights, and from somebody who was rooting for Manny to win. Open your eyes and look at the stats lol.

I didn't watch the fight, but I was amazed at how many people had trouble watching the Pay Per View on Cable. Some reported that they had trouble trying to order the PPV hours before it was scheduled to air, others who were not interested in the event had their regular channels blacked out because the servers were getting hammered, and even people who successfully ordered the event couldn't view it well after it aired.
It's just crazy that in 2015, cable companies are still having the same problems they had in the 90s.
Just for the sake of offering some kind of talk of Boxing, my family and I used to watch Julio Cesar Chavez fights ALL THE TIME. Guess that shows just how long it's been since I've last watched a boxing event.

Boxing is actually quite exciting, it's just the fact that last night we got the 2 highest level boxers and in boxing (unlike MMA) when the 2 highest level guys fight fights don't tend to have the most action especially at the weight classes in which Floyd/Manny compete in. Boxing isn't for everybody, which is why I think MMA got so big so fast since it appeals to more people with the fighters being able to use more tools to create an exciting fight. I thought it was a good fight, not great. For sure was underwhelmed and I can see how a casual boxing fan (even tho 90% of the people talking about this can't even call themselves a casual fan) could find this boring. But the whole Mayweather running and hugging this is simply ignorant seeing how much more active he was than Manny the entire fight. The Memes are quite funny tho.

Fight went pretty much as expected although I thought Manny was going to be more of a problem for Floyd but he just completely outclassed and outboxed Manny. Lost a little bit of respect for Manny though after he said he thought he won the fight during the post fight interview. Come on man not even Roach backed him up. I enjoyed seeing Floyd at work and thought it was a p good fight. I don't know where he goes from here though. He seems ready to hang it up and there's no one that really stands out as his next challenge. Thurman? GGG? Canelo, Marquez, or Cotto again?
Speaking of Canelo he fights Kirkland this weekend! Should be good, I think this is probably going to be the type of fight a lot of people expected Mayweather vs Pacquiao to be.

I think most people were expecting a WWE/UFC-esque fight. High action and punches.. possibly a knockout. Most don't understand how strategic boxing can be. I thought mayweather simply outclassed and outboxed pacman. People will make up excuses regardless of the outcome.

It was a typical Floyd fight and I agree that the people complaining about it being boring are the people that 1) don't know shit about boxing and 2) are salty about Pacqiuao losing. Seriously guys, all you had to do was watch one Floyd fight in the last 3 years (except for Maidana I) and you would've known exactly what to expect. Who would've thought that the point of boxing was not only to hit the other guy, but also, I don't know, not get hit.
I'll admit to being as casual of a boxing fan as can be, only coming in for the big fights (Floyd, Pacqiuao, Canelo, Marquez), but I assume last Saturday was the first time a lot of people were tuning in. I don't really blame them either; it's not like they show clinches and tiny spatters of punches in either fighters highlight reel. Then again, I still know people who vehemently argue Pacquiao was robbed when Mayweather clearly and cleanly waltzed to a decision. Like always.

As an avid boxing fan I will always encourage newer fans to go watch the Gatti/Ward trilogy. Two guys that went all out and left it in the ring. Thank me later.

Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. was the man! What are some of your favorite JSC Sr. matches durty? The obvious one would be the first Taylor fight, them just standing in the center of the ring and banging it out as were most of his fights. Just putting so much pressure on somebody until they broke, very gritty and in your face is my favorite style. The 2nd De La Hoya fight was the first one I actually saw before looking back through tapes my step dad had (not sure where they are anymore unfortunately). Also random comment, I've always randomly hated De la Hoya for some reason, could never put my finger on why but dude just rubs me the wrong way.
