I still haven't seen the Dustin match, but I liked his opening week match with Sammy Guevara, and his promo work has been less hokey than it was in ROH/NJPW (probably because he's playing a babyface now) so I'm trying to give Cody a chance. I've always said when he puts aside all the extracurricular nonsense he's good enough in the ring.
Honestly, my biggest complaint about the show so far is the commentary. It's better than WWE's constant rotation of one-liners with no natural back and forth flow. But JR and Schiavone just seem uninterested half the time, leaving Excalibur to carry way too much of the load. The only person Ross seems invested in getting over is Jake Hager, and that's just his Oklahoma thing.
Agree about the tag division being their biggest strength. How anybody could still say the Young Bucks don't understand ring psychology at this point is beyond me. I'm at the point of considering them in-ring geniuses. Every week it's something different. Ultra sympathetic babyfaces fighting stacked odds in week one, which helped the formation of the Inner Circle get over that much more. Perfectly modulated subtle-heels in week two, which got Private Party over as legit stars in one night. They're on a different level right now.

I've been mostly a fan of the commentary every week. Tony feels reinvigorated and fresh, and I think that comes from him playing third mic and only chiming in every now and then rather than talking over top of JR and Excalibur. Excalibur is on another level, and is the best commentator in wrestling right now. JR is hit and miss, and usually more miss for me unfortunately. No matter what reasons and rebuttals he gives on his podcast every week, he ABSOLUTELY goes into grumpy mode and slows the show commentary to a halt. Watching the Pittsburgh show back, I felt the commentary was the weakest of the four weeks. Still, that's a far cry away from the absolute mind-numbing ear rape that happens with every commentary team in WWE.
At the risk of sounding like a hate-filled, Sprite-drinking, racket-carrying, Southen manager, my biggest problem with AEW right now are the random nonsensical stips being added to matches, including dark matches. Omega v Janela, and Allin v. Havoc v. Jack Evans (coming this week on Dark) were street fights and falls count anywhere respectively, for no reason other than to do it. I'm afraid they will burn their stips very quickly. At least give me a story line reason for all of Allin, Janela, and Havok's matches to be hardcore. Raven's Rules or such.

I didn't even know they had a show for their dark matches until this week & then during Dynamite they show they've been running crazy hardcore matches with 2 of their biggest stars. You've got a PPV in a couple weeks & Jon Moxley is taking barbed wire bumps on youtube. Makes zero sense.

Honestly love everything about AEW now. Great matches, great storylines and feel very fresh.
But... Cody. Honestly so hard to get behind Cody, honestly don’t think Cody vs. Jericho should be the current feud for the title, I think that if Jericho will be in a feud with Cody they should give the title to Mox, Pac or Omega. They are the hottest wrestlers aside Jericho that AEW have got.

I don't mind Cody being in the title picture. His ongoing feud with Jericho is a blast to watch. Jericho is such a genius. Don't know why but his current persona reminds me of Ben Stiller in Dodgeball haha. He's a bad guy, yet the stuff he says and the way he acts is so funny. I kind of want to see him keep the title for at least 4 more title defenses.
The final for the tourney was great! I would have preferred if Lucha Bros had won the titles, but I'm fine with SCU winning them. I'm sure they still put on killer performances with whatever team crosses their path.
The women's match was good. Shanna's debut was impressive. I'm guessing we'll be seeing Riho vs Shida at Full Gear.
Both trio matches were fun, especially the last one.
Also, Kenny's entrance was crazy.

I didn't get Kenny's entrance at all. The video preceding it or the costume. None of it made a lick of sense to me.
Moxley's promo, though. That I get! The guy's so much better without a script it's amazing.

The guy's so much better without a script it's amazing. It's from a video game called Undertale. I'm not super familiar with it either, but the creator has done things for Kenny in the past. I believe he did Kenny's entrance video for Wrestle Kingdom earlier this year. The overt references to Ibushi and the NJPW lion were very interesting.

Today's episode was by far the best episode. The crowd was on fire. And the ending was absolutely badass. That segment was so well done and it lasted for like 10 minutes. It really gets you pumped up to see Full Gear. Every match in the card is gonna be great.
Really happy to see Trent get a singles match, and I'm hoping to see more of them in the future 'cause that match with PAC was cool.
Riho vs Sakura is gonna be one of the show stealers at Full Gear. The same could be said with the triple way tag match, and LAX vs Young Bucks.
Codys promo was just as good as Moxleys promo from last week. Maybe even better. Wondering if he'll actually win the title.

The only thing I continue to dislike about AEW is Cody. Now he's riding around in private jets & limos while listening to Tony Schiavone tell stories about Willie Nelson. And Goldust is getting jumped backstage Nitro-style. And his wife is doing voodoo to control Awesome Kong?!?! 🤦 If I wanted to see shit like this I'd start watching RAW again.
Oh yeah, and that roll-up to end the tag tournament was suuuuuuuuuper anti-climactic.
Aaaaaaand AEW really needs some good big guys. Jack Thwagger doesn't count.

Chaotic main event. Storytelling ftw.
