Everyone,
I'll make this one pretty easy. I recently got engaged and am looking to get a house, kids, dog. You know, the whole 90 yards. So, part of my budgeting involves not paying for the website anymore.
I'm going to continue paying until January of 2011, but at that point I won't be any more. It's not that I don't love the site and all that, it's just priorities have stepped up.
Anyone who wants to take over, or anyone who is interested, please send me a message.
I'll never forget everything that the website has given to me, and I'm really hoping someone steps up for this. I would hate to see 4 years of work go away. Hell, more then 4 years now. I don't even know how long anymore.
Anyway, holla.

As I've stated before, I'm more than willing to contribute to the costs of running the site.

Congrats on your engagement Ryan! Wish you the very best of luck with all your plans! And thank you for everything you've done here. We wouldn't be here without you!
And applause to our future owner, Harry!

Awhile back I flirted with the idea of selling something to raise funds for the site. A couple of years back, I burnt a few competitions to DVD and made custom cover art and all that. Bob, Matt, and Frank saw them at the TPI. I wonder if we could do something along those lines? Sell best ofs, competitions, and so on for really cheap. I'd imagine that only two or three of us would actually buy something, but it would make a small dent in the yearly cost of maintaining the website.
I also propose that Ryan sets up a webcam in his bedroom.

We've got enough creative individuals that it shouldn't be too hard to find people to do covers, menus, and burning. I could plug the sales on the other boards I visit. MVZ actually has a pretty good rep, so if we marketed them with the idea of all proceeds going to continue the website, we could definitely sell some.

These are the mock-ups I did a few years back using preexisting graphics and all zero of my photo-shopping talent. I'd imagine someone with experience could make something pretty appealing.

I love the way those look! I'd definetely be a buyer.
How much has it been to run this place? Around $3 a month right?

Well, what I'll do next is remove my information from the login, and email it to whomever is interested.
Everything is through godaddy.com. I changed the payment awhile back to monthly. I think it's $8 a month and then some yearly fee. To be honest, I just let it automatically come out.
I've been busy as hell with work, so not able to come here. I'll check back in again with the names of the people interested. Pretty much I'm going to send it to those whom I know and let them iron it out.
All I ask is that before anyone takes it down or deletes it all, to give me a shout so I can download anything I had before.
I also would love to keep a l/p for the FTP, as I use it for work files from time to time.
cheers
