So basically my hard drive is dead. When i Plug it in and turn it on the light comes on, then it starts flashing, then bam! it cuts off. All within a few seconds so i get no use out of it. Do any of you know how to fix it or maybe a way where i can get my stuff off of it?
Any Help would be really appreciated!

It could be a hardrive failure, there are lots of options of ways you can save this or fix it. Sometimes it can be your USB ports are simply messed up and give the drive an improper command that shuts off the hardrive. Try different ports or a different computer if you can.
If the external drive is damaged you can always take it somewhere and they can usually save the data and transfer it over (Although it can charge up to $100). You can also take the shell off of the driver and try connecting it that way. Last, put the driver in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer (no more than 20 minutes), That will eliminate any moisture build up that could be causing the problems. That's about all I know to do in these situations, best of luck!

No problem. Glad it ended up working for you man, always great to NOT have to drop cash for something. Technology can be so frustrating sometimes, glad it's working!
