I searched for ages looking for a page to bump with no luck, so I guess I'll put this here... God damn ltownbob you're on another level. I just watched your cm punk four steps on youtube and your gsp name of the game mv.
Easily two of the best mvs I've seen. (Though I may be doing other members an injustice as I haven't gone thru everyones work) Amazing detail and effects. The GSP video in particular I really liked... I have to ask what program you're editing with. I've always wanted to manipulate clips like you did with the turntable parts. Also the way you layered those shadowed shots of gsp in the ring was really impressive.
If you made these videos in sony vegas I'll eat my hat.

Yeah both those videos were made in Vegas. Most of the effects were also made in Vegas except a few things in GSP were made in After Effects. The shadow overlays were made in Vegas and were fairly easy to be honest. All the shots had a perfect white background with just GSP attempting strikes. I simply chroma keyed out the white and added a few effects to black out the screen. I simply got lucky to have all those shots. The turntable effect was also velocity in Vegas. I pretty much have used Sony Vegas for 99% of all my effects. I'm still shit with After Effects. Thanks for the compliments. Edit: I also use a plug in called NewBlue. It is very very nifty. Also may I suggest taking a look at Th3rd. He is pretty much unanimously considered the best editor on this website. themvzone4.wordpress.com/category/music-videos/th3rd/Dragon: The Bryan Danielson Story, Crowded Room, Empty Room, Before They Were Stars, Evolution of John Morrison, Nigel: In It To Win It, and Rewind to name a few that are must watch.

That's cool. I would of felt guilty not giving you your props after seeing those mvs. Cheers for the tips. I remember using velocity back in the day now you mention it. I'm still getting the hang of vegas again. And really, I should of been able to figure out chroma keying after having worked around green screens at uni.
Regardless of how easy it may have been for you, those were damn good music videos.
