Just post whatever it is you are reading. Could be a book, magazine, graphic novel, manga, etc.
Got done reading the comics my brother picked up yesterday:
Wolverine and the X-Men: Alpha & Omega (Limited Series - 1 of 5)
It was a good issue that show Kid Omega is a real threat to everyone. Now, I know some people will be wondering who the hell is the guy with the purple hair and why is it called Wolverine & the X-Men?
In order to get what this mini-series is talking about you have to read Schism, and then that will lead into Wolverine & the X-Men, which will also branch out into Uncanny X-Men. Unlike most of Marvel's summer events that say will "change everything" but doesn't, this one is totally different.
Avengers: X-Sanction (Limited Series - 2 of 4)
Back Story: Cable has returned from the dead, and he seeks to wipe out the Avengers for what they did to his daughter and has only 24 hours to do so or else he will never be able to extract his revenge. He has an advantage though: since he is now from the future, he knows what is going to happen while the Avengers don't, which will help him in his quest to wipe them out. This limited series of comics is going to set up the X-Men vs. Avengers story that starts in April.
In the first issue Cable fought Captain America & Falcon senseless. Which leads into issue #2 with Cable fighting Iron Man.
It was an awesome fight, very close between the two characters. When Iron Man thinks he has one upped Cable, Cable outsmarts him by installing a shut down system into Iron Man that is in a language that no one will know about until thousands of years later. Stark's suit blows up, and Cable returns him to where Cap & Falcon are. But, then Red Hulk appears and blasts Cable with one of his guns. Which will now lead into Issue #3 with Cable fighting Red Hulk.
While my very brief summary may not make it seem like it's a very emotional series, it very much is. The relationship between Cable & his daughter Hope really makes you sympathize with him and makes you wonder just what the Avengers did to her to make him this way. With only 2 issues left, it's only going to get better from here. Pick this series up right now.
Swamp Thing #5
This was one of the more pleasant surprises of the DC New 52. Every issue of Swamp Thing has been fantastic, very colorful and pretty violent for a T+ comic. Since this is barely at issue 5, it will be quick for new comers to jump in and enjoy themselves. This issue closes a small arc in which William, who was born with a severe allergy to chlorophyll, a biomolecule found in all plants. Because of this, he has spent his entire life in a hermetically sealed container. At a young age, his sister, Abby, left him to the care of a hospital in Texas, where she had hoped to hide him, because unknown to William, like his sister, he was also born with a deep connection to the Rot, the force of dead, enemy to the Green and Red, the life forces of plant and animal life.
This issue had Alec Holland, who is commonly known as Swamp Thing, understanding that this is who he was born to be. In the issues previously, he was refusing to accept that at the end of the day, he needed to be Swamp Thing to save the world, but Issue #5 finally has him using his powers to fight William and save the day...or so he thinks.
Batman: Detective Comics #5
This one REALLY disappointed me. Actually, only the first issue of Detective Comics was really good, and it's been getting worse ever since. Here is the plot summary:
Ok. It starts off pretty strong in that direction, it shows a bunch of Joker sympathizers outside of the police...I should mention that at the end of the first issue, Joker's face gets sliced off. Hasn't been mentioned since. We then follow Charlotte to a party at the Iceberg Casino (sadly no Mr. Freeze cameo), where she is now apparently a detective as well and puts on a Maid uniform and does some investigating of her own. Then, finally the Penguin shows up (in the last page) and says...nothing. THE END! It was over before anything got started...or attempted to keep telling the story. Stay far, far away from this Batman series. You're way better off with the Batman comics. They actually have stuff happening.

There's been a seriers of assassinations in the criminal underworld – and The Penguin is among Batman's first suspects! But when seemingly ordinary women become part of the killings, Batman discovers a common denominator that leads him on the trail of a vicious killer who is spiraling down a path of destruction. Bruce Wayne's girlfriend, investigative reporter Charlotte Rivers, ends up on the killer's hit list. And with her missing, can Batman uncover the layers of lies and deception within the underworld in time to save her?
