Looking to grab a graphics tablet, anyone know of any great ones at a reasonable price? Wacom Intuos if you don't need a display on it yea i'm looking for one with a display, as I only have a laptop which is hard enough as it is. Guessing you use Wacom Intuos? How handy do you find it when using a graphics tablet for Illustrator?

How handy do you find it when using a graphics tablet for Illustrator? I use it with my Macbook and it's more than enough for my needs, just takes a bit of time to get used to it but it's great for the workflow, especially in Illustrator. I've been using it for years and never felt the need to upgrade or switch to anything else so I can't advise you on any higher range models.

Man, Vegas is running so slow for me I'm starting to give up hope that I'll be editing any time soon. I'm not a computer guy but I figured this new gaming laptop I got would be more than capable, though it only has 8 gigs of ram. Any time I import multiple clips the program freezes up bad, then it takes a while to sort out. Then when I drag them into the timeline (or even attempt to) it freezes up bad again. Seems like it can't handle more than a few files without getting overloaded. I'm editing with VOBs, don't remember having lag to this effect before. I wonder if it's from the fact that all the media is on an external hard drive? Maybe if I copied it onto my main hard drive it'd be okay. Or maybe a new program entirely will help. Hope I can sort this out.

Using a trial version of 18 currently. I did try and adjust a few things for optimization I saw on YouTube but the main problem is still how much it freezes up when I try and import anything.

I've used vegas for over 8 years--been editing on a 2012 samsung laptop since 2013--only 6 GB of RAM. I've always ran into responding issues with every version of vegas I've had. Recently switched over to 18 from 14 a couple of months ago. I've never really noticed much of a difference in speed of the program, itself. That could be because of my old laptop, or it's just vegas in general. It's really just become something I've grown used to at this point--It loves to freeze.

Hope I can sort this out. My best guess is that you didn't give it enough of ram, Vegas by itself gives itself 200mb of ram which isn't nearly enough. If you are using 18 this is going to be very helpful Oh and btw, if you need it to be smoother use proxies. Many people don't know about it, but it improves the performance immensely because H.246 is really bad to edit with.
