Silva is GOD.That KO was great! ^TRUTH^ Two things: As much as I love Bones Jones, he's not winning that title fight. GSP vs. Silva is going to do a retardedly high buyrate. I wouldn't be so sure. There are so many things to factor in... - Rua hasn't fought in nearly a year. Last time he had a long layoff like this he came back & struggled to put Mark Coleman away in the last minute of their fight. - I'm not entirely convinced Rua even took enough time off to properly recuperate this time around. Early reports said he wouldn't be healthy until summer. Last time he came into a fight in that kind of shape he got choked out by Forrest Griffin. - Jones had been training with Rashad, who was training for Rua. Whatever gameplan Greg Jackson had for Rashad could probably easily be tweaked for Jones. - Jones is young & healthy. Barring any injuries, this six week turn around between fights will be easy for him. - Rua has been training for Rashad, a relatively small LHW who would be looking to pin him against the cage, get takedowns, & grind out a decision. Jones is a freaking huge LHW who will be looking to land his unorthodox offense, get takedowns, put his elbows through Rua's skull, & try to wrap those long arms around his neck. - Jones is inexperienced against top tier fighters. - Jones hasn't had his chin tested or been threatened by a BJJ black belt. We haven't seen how he handles pressure. - Rua is battle tested. All I'm saying is I can see this fight going either way... any way. I'll be rooting for Bones, but I won't be surprised from any outcome... unless Rashad jumps the fence & hits him with a steel chair. That fight isn't set in stone yet. GSP has to beat Shields first... .......okay, who am I kidding? Shields isn't getting out of the first round. And I agree about Shogun. Jones will be in a world of trouble against a healthy Shogun. The odds of Shogun actually being healthy worry me though. Meh, Georges will probably let Shieldzzzzz stick around for the later rounds... but his face will be extremely battered & he'll be dying from exhaustion, begging for Rush to end his misery. "Please, send me back to Strikeforce where I can wrestlefuck cans with no takedown or submission defense!"

You're right about Bones/Shogun. Another thing to consider: Bones has basically only fought wrestlers so far, none of them had great striking and wrestlers traditionally don't do well off of their backs. Shogun is a sweeping machine. But yeah, Shogun's shape is the big question mark, if he's in top shape he is a handful for everybody.

Anderson Silva will retire as champion because he's that awesome. 3 years old but still great.

OK, With UFC 126 outta the way...we can look forward to the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix!!!
We got two Bracket Matches Fedor Emelianenko vs. Antonio Silva (heavyweight-tournament quarterfinals) Andrei Arlovski vs. Sergei Kharitonov (heavyweight-tournament quarterfinals)
And three reserve matches # Shane Del Rosario vs. Lavar Johnson (heavyweight-tournament reserve fight) # Valentijn Overeem vs. Ray Sefo (heavyweight-tournament reserve fight) # Chad Griggs vs. Gian Villante (heavyweight-tournament reserve fight)
plus some other matchups as well. Should be an interesting night!
My picks are Fedor, and Andrei. Fedor is an no brainer for me, but I am worried about Silva's size but I question his chin. In his last fight he was dropped by a last minute opponent and almost lost the fight. I just think Andrei is due for a win, I know he is on a losing streak but I'll stick with him. Even though I know Sergei is a beast.

Way to kill the mood, Wraku! Here we are having an enjoyable conversation about GSP/Silva & Shogun/Bones... & you bring up Strikeforce. Just messin'. Here's how I see the tournament shaking out if it all goes down as planned... Quarterfinals: Fedor over Bigfoot... easy. Overeem beats Werdum by refusing to go to the ground. Barnett beats Rogers. Arlovski/Kharitonov is a crap shoot. Semifinals: Fedor beats Overeem (he isn't the worldbeater everyone on Sherdog likes to think he is). Barnett beats the winner of Arlovski/Kharitonov. Finals: Fedor over Barnett... easy. If the tournament doesn't go exactly as planned... it'll be because of Fedor/M-1 or Barnett.

Barnett in the finals....well, I can't wait to see the final on a ship in international waters because Barnett can't get licensed anywhere

If I were Rampage I wouldn't want to face Shogun after the whole PRIDE deal either. Anyways, I really want the upset to happen and for Jones to become the light heavyweight champ.

Jones getting the upset and GSP murdering Sheilds are the two best things for UFC right now.
