I believe I've told this story before, but for those of you who are unaware...I make movies...really bad ones.
The creation of the original Ricky Django series actually began on the original MV Zone Film Festival back in 08 I believe. I had written it for a friend of mine but our schedules never allowed us a chance to film together so I decided to do the part myself (he would eventually become the camera man and villain for the second episode) . I did enjoy the task of acting, directing, filming, and editing by myself as it help me develop a love for the filming process itself.
I chose the third episode of the series because I felt like it was the best we ever recorded. I got another friend of mine to play the villain Burst Man who could stop time with a ray gun (which was a soda box sleeve). The funny story about this episode was that he played the villain entirely wrong. The villain was actually called Blast-Man and he would use the Blast Ray to stop time. I guess my friend forgot the name or went Brando on me but he entirely through the script out the window and improved the entire thing. He had this sort of Doctor Octopus vibe to him which played alot better than what I had written. He had some great one liners also, we even had entire shots and sequences specifically made for him.
I present to you. The third episode of the Adventures of Ricky Django.

First of all, I have to commend you for putting this thing together. I think doing stuff outside the box is the bee's knees, and even if the MVZ had already held a film festival in years prior, doing one now can only help us grow as a community.
All that being said, I have to say the third installment of Ricky Django was pretty interesting. It reminded me a lot of Threat-Level Midnight, the Office in-universe feature Michael Scott makes. I'm not entirely sure if making something along those lines was intentional though, your opening paragraph of "I make bad movies" certainly makes it seem that way. Furthermore, there's bad movies, and there's bad movies. This wasn't the negative one.
As for criticism, I found your tidbit about production really interesting, and am curious to see how it would have turned out should you have included it in the piece. The story behind the story. Office style maybe?
All in all I have to say this was a wonderful way to start the 2015 MVZ Film Festival. Keep on making Ricky Django!
