This shouldn't be a surprise to anybody, but what a fucking joke the wellness policy has turned out to be.
Over the years we would get a violation now and then just to remind people that they do actually test. But then Lesnar has one UFC fight, immediately gets popped by USADA, and WWE is forced to admit they don't test him, and suddenly out of nowhere we get a string of violations one after another? Call me a conspiracy nut if you want, but this is a pretty transparent move by WWE in my book.
And for the record, I do believe these failures are legit. That's not what I'm implying. I just mean the testing clearly isn't on the up and up, and never has been.
And meanwhile, the guy who brought down all the negative pub in the first place is set to be in one of the main events of SummerSlam.

Nakamura may have just done my favorite wrestling entrance of all time. So simple yet so cool.

Another awesome fuckin' Takeover. This is why everyone should be watching NXT, shows like this make me proud to call myself a Wrestling Fan. It boggles my mind that NXT is this good, and then you have the main roster bullshit. Simple booking and great pay-off matches. Jose/Aries, great way to start off the show. Hideo doing that GTS was the best thing. Bobby Roode's entrance was just amazing... I mean Glorious. The Tag Title match, man that was something. I loved it. Match of the night for me. I wanted Ciampa/Gargano to win so badly. Women's title match was great, that powerbomb botch kinda killed the momentum a little, but great match nonetheless. Main Event, damn. I knew Nakamura would win (and I have no issues with that), but I was pulling for Joe. I absolutely love the work Joe is doing in NXT. Some of the best in his career. I think he's legit enough to take on Lesnar, where Joe gives Lesnar a taste of his own medicine and Suplexes him around. All in all, great Takeover. Now, I can't wait for Summerslam, where half the matches were put together in 2 weeks!
Also, commentary is so important on a show, Corey Graves and Tom Phillips make it so much better to watch what's going on in the ring unlike Cole calling every move the Blue Thunder Bomb.

I had to miss the Skype chat because of prior engagements so I watched this on demand and I am so glad I avoided my phone like the plague. It really is perplexing that this show is presented by the same company that makes us cringe and lash out with anger the most at. I like to go with the Earth 1 / Earth 2 analogy, where NXT is in Earth 2 and everything makes sense there and everyone enjoys it. Earth 1 is where WWE is. I hate Earth 1. The tag title match was my favorite of the night as well, and I was also hoping Gargano & Ciampa were gonna win. I really like The Revival, they are talented enough to respect them, but they also have the ability to have you hate them when they beat your favorite team. That'a a good combo for a heel team. The two main title matches were good as well. Asuka/Bayley was better this time around than their first encounter, but still felt short time wise compared to the heyday of women's title matches on NXT. It seems like Bayley's send off, so hopefully they finally put her on the main roster. Joe/Nakamura brought it with just straight up wrestling holds and methodical attacks that made me appreciate that side of wrestling much more after it was said and done. My favorite part was Joe's selling that his jaw was dislocated, because it sure as hell looked like he did haha. Glad to see Nakamura as champ though, excited to see where they go from here. Now it's time for the 4 hour slogfest that is SummerSlam. Oof.

I feel the same way after watching this years Wrestlemania as I do after watching Summerslam. There was stuff that I liked and stuff that I very much disliked. The show wasn't terrible but it was far from great. The Sasha/Charlotte match was Sloppy and Dangerous yet was really fun to watch. The outcome I didn't like but if Sasha is injured or did violate the Wellness policy then it makes sense I guess. The AJ/Cena match was so fucking good that match alone I cant give this show a bad review. Just fantastic stuff, and with AJ winning Clean just made it even better. After this match the show went down hill.
The New Day/The Club was whatever, just give The Club the titles already. Ziggler vs Ambrose wasn't bad but the crowd was never into this match and really anything after the AJ/Cena match. Also there was really no point in the match where u could believe that Ziggler would win. The 6 women tag was whatever. But MY GOD THAT NEW UNIVERSAL TITLE. It looks like if you took the WWE Title, put it in the washing machine with some Twizzlers and came out that. It just does not look good, its lazy and makes me worry what the new Tag + Womens titles will look like. The match was great imo but the crowd was just not into it, anytime they showed the Universal title they booed (as they should), but it took me out of the match at points. But Finn won which is awesome, some would say too soon but thankfully the did it right away and not wait 2 years. The Russev vs Roman ordeal was uhh.. I dont know. How do they expect people to cheer Roman after that? And the Orton/Lesnar match was okay but the ending was uhhhh.... uncomfortable to say the least. It was a weird ending to a really weird show.
There was a lot of great wrestling and alot I really really loved on the show, but it was WAY to long and some questionable finishes in big matches dragged down my enjoyment of the show.

There was a lot of great wrestling and alot I really really loved on the show, but it was WAY to long and some questionable finishes in big matches dragged down my enjoyment of the show. The show was definitely disappointing and didn't flow right. The opener was pretty hot, but it definitely didn't hit the high that I thought it was going to (especially with the sloppy finish) but still good in it's own right. The women's title match was okay, but it wasn't their best match together. I didn't know about Sasha getting taken out of a month's worth of shows so it seems like she may have failed wellness because what other reason would you remove someone for that exact amount of time? We'll see though. Also: 50/50 booking at it's finest right here. The Intercontinental title was forgettable. Styles/Cena is easily match of the night. We will all hear it talked to death (in a good way) so I'm not gonna detail it out. Just a fantastic match. Just like HTW said, this is where the show jumped off the cliff. What was the point of building this tag title program if the "big match" was gonna end in a DQ? Just perplexing to think that we gotta go another month of stuff between these two teams before we (hopefully) get a resolution to this...which will then lead to The New Day winning the belts back at Survivor Series or something. 50/50 right? I fell asleep during Ambrose/Ziggler so.... The six women tag went way too damn long. They really couldn't put Sami in this spot? Or even Cesaro/Sheamus? The Universal title looks...like the WWE Championship and the Women's Championship except with a red strap. Why? You'd think with the amount of time they had hyping this thing up, it would look different but this is the WWE we are talking about, where we have to make everything uniform and forgettable. As for the match, it was fine but I was definitely waiting for it to hit a bigger crescendo and it didn't. I don't know if this is the first time they have faced each other, so I'm hoping that it was just them getting the timing down right and when they inevitably do the rematch, it will be better. Don't know what to say about the U.S title...thing but how is Rusev portrayed as the bad guy when Roman has been the instigator this whole time? Also, why did Roman attack him and get himself DQ'ed? He just beat the man not 7 days ago, why did he flip out? Brock won. Yep.

It was overly long & had matches in weird spots on the card, but I still enjoyed SummerSlam. Charlotte vs Sasha was good. AJ vs Cena was awesome. Ambrose vs Ziggler was good. Balor vs Rollins was good. And the PPV ended with Orton lying in a pool of his own blood.
