Fenix vs Nick was epic. We better get more Fenix single matches on AEW.

Top to bottom that was one of the best episodes they've done. But what the hell is with these AEW refs?

Today's episode was probably my least favorite one so far, but it was still a blast to watch. Had high expectations on the main event. Although the match wasn't bad, it was okay. I'm hoping Sky gets another opportunity in the future. Best Friends vs Lucha Bros was nice, and Omega vs PAC was really good. The woman's tag match was fun. I'm glad to see Priestley back. Didn't care much about that new stable attacking Cody. I think my favorite part of the episode was the opening segment, I just hope they don't do it very often. That LAX basket had me dying; they deadass put "chancletas" in there lol.
OH, and J.R was atrocious tonight.

Wasn't the best episode, but with the content being overall consistent I didn't mind it. I don't think I even realised until I had seen it being mentioned. Personally, I have just been having fun with the product so far. Opening segment was definitely my favourite part of the show as well. I do think they're building Sky as a top guy for the future and he certainly deserves it. Kris Statlander has been really impressive and I'm glad they're actually acknowledging the problems with their women's division and trying to work on it. Best part of the new stable is Allie. I understand why they have JR there and he still has moments of brilliance (Moxley debut, MJF turn), but the bad outweighs the good in this case. Mox vs Jericho should be great.

Agree with you guys - while good, it was their weakest episode so far.
Did anyone else hear JR call Trent “Taven” last night?

Hahaha. Excalibur had to correct him afterwards. There were so many times throughout the episode where I wanted him to stop talking. Someone needs to tell him to get his shit together.

While I remain very positive on the promotion as a whole, the way AEW spaces out their commercial breaks is steadily becoming a major pet peeve for me. How many times last night did we watch the entrances for a match, then see the first few minutes before going to commercial in the middle of the match, then come back for the end of the match, only to stick around for the entrances and start of the next match before going to the next commercial break IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MATCH AGAIN! It can't be that hard to time things out so the commercials fall in between the matches. The picture-in-picture doesn't help much. The lack of sound really takes me out of the moment.

Yeah, the timing of the commercials were pretty bad, maybe that's why I didn't enjoy the matches as much.
Still don't mind that they they show the matches while they have the commercials, even if I can't hear the commentary nor arena. Probably because I'm still amazed that that's a thing lol.

Loved everything from today's episode. Way better than last week. That opening match was out of this world. I'm so happy that we get to see a Young Bucks match almost every week on Tv. Their hybrid lucha libre style was always meant to be shown on television. The Cody and Jericho promos were phenomenal. Jerichos match with Jungleboy in like 2 weeks will be a star making moment for Jungleboy. I can't wait for it. Trent and Fénix better have more matches between each other. Nyla Rose putting Rick Knox through the table was so funny and awesome to see. Although I would have loved to see it without the picture and picture. I guess AD was right about them timing their commercials at the wrong time. Same thing happened after Trent vs Fenix when they were having that altercation. And the Shida vs Statlander was MOTN for me.

I think maybe they do it to try to prevent people from flipping over to NXT during the commercials. But yeah, that Nyla angle would've had way more impact with crowd reactions and commentary and all the other bells and whistles. Kind of a shame they undermined their first cool angle in the women's division, while that dud of a segment with Brandi and Kong got proper airtime.

I really can’t stand Nyla. If anyone watched Dark this week, she set new standards for bad commentary - really made me want to turn it off for the first time ever.
This week’s show was a mixed bag. They have got to get these audio issues resolved. The matches were a lot of fun, but I’m really not feeling “The Nightmare Collective” whatsoever. Brandi seems super miscast in the role. I do like The Butcher/Blade/Bunny combo and think they will be a good addition when people get to know the team better.
The show still feels like it’s missing something. I think having only four ppvs every year is going to hurt them a little. The show feels like it’s just drifting along, biding time waiting to build for the next big show.

I don't mind Nyla in the ring, but I have to agree about her on commentary. I was listening to her on commentary during Dark and just hoping they'd take her off after the first match was over. I'm not huge on The Nightmare Collective either. Personally, I feel like this hokey gimmick kind of took away from Awesome Kong's aura. Brandi does nothing for me, I wish she wasn't involved with the Women's Division at all. I think the introduction of a secondary title will help the show a lot. Guys like Darby, Havoc, Jungle Boy need something to fight over for the mean time while Mox, PAC and Omega fight over the World Title.

I guess I'm gonna have to pop in every once in a while to shit on Cody.
That promo was ass. Hearts are cool if they have no scars?! What? Whines that his family & friends are in other angles. Insults his opponent for having a fake scarf & calls him a bush league NWO version of Jericho. That makes no sense at all, isn't clever or even the slightest bit funny. Then proceeds to bribe him into a match with all of his riches. What the fuck is his character supposed to be?! Is it just The Nature Boy without the charisma, in-ring talent, or mic skill? And he's booking himself as the #1 babyface?
Cody is just Jeff Jarrett when he started TNA. Bleach blonde hair, knock off Flair, started the company to compete with WWE, top guy despite others way more deserving (Kenny is totally AJ in this scenario). Maybe if he went back to being heel, most this stuff wouldn't matter.
Anyways, agree with you guys on the shitty commercial break placement. Picture-in-picture doesn't help. beej, I'm with you on the audio issues. I thought my TV was crapping out.
And yeah, they're missing "something." It's a shame they weren't able to get Punk. A really big surprise debut or high profile defection would give them that "anything can happen" moment that they've been lacking since Dynamite started. I think not having any overrun time hurts them. Once you hit that hour & 55 minute mark, you know the match is about to end & the winner will have a staredown with a wrestler in the crowd. Not very exciting. Maybe a few supercard shows a year to build to between PPVs could keep things from feeling too drawn out. And I'll say it again, they desperately need some good big guys. They had a battle royale a couple weeks ago & Billy Gunn was playing the Big Show part & dwarfed everyone else in the ring. Not a good look.
What was up with that whole diamond ring match anyways? Does it guarantee the winner a title shot? Was it just an excuse to bring DDP out again?
Unless they're gonna come together or something, there are too many dark/edgy/supernatural-ish groups on the show right now.
Is it me or is Kenny Omega being booked underwhelmingly? He was the hottest star in the business a year ago & now he's just... another guy.
I know I'm coming off as negative, but I swear I love everything else about AEW that I haven't touched on.

Since we're all talking negatives, anyone else annoyed at how often they do the "lights out" gimmick? It's awesome when it happens once in awhile, but they've done it way too much now that it loses its' mystique when the next one happens. And now its a part of Kong's entrance??
I can complain about a few more things, but I'll keep it at that for now. AEW's been solid thus far, but I agree that somethings missing. At least for me. I think they're missing a Villain...

A pretty good big guy just became available, too... www.f4wonline.com/wwe-news/luke-harper-and-sin-cara-granted-releases-wwe-299086Like the idea of doing supercard shows, too. Was thinking it would be cool if they could add some Clash of the Champions type shows to their schedule in between the PPVs. Even if it was just a special 3 hour show in their usual timeslot it would give them something to build to in the intermediate.
