I hadn't watched a single episode of NXT since the new season until last night.
Vyper will be glad to hear this:
Percy Watson...
WAS THE BEST PART OF THE SHOW! I f'n love him!
I must say, that battle royal at the end was all kinds of bad. It just didn't make sense. You would assume the groups would work together, but no. I get that guys like the Miz would be pricks and do their own thing, but at one point, McGuillicutty and some other NXT Season 2 guy were beating each other up, when Percy and the rest of Season 2 just challenged the pros. Why go after each other then?? And even some of the pros did it.
I kept noticing that a couple guys, Cody Rhodes in particular, kept leaning through the ropes to talk with one of the refs. I also think I heard the ref say "5 minutes" at one point. I'm thinking that they timed the battle royal wrong, possibly eliminated people too quickly, and were stuck in limbo trying to fill time until the end of the show. Just me though.

Once it was made into a battle royal it was every man for himself, so the way to make an impression was to win. NXT is still a competition for the season 2 guys, obviously they're not going to work together and get on totally fine. I thought the battle royal was good. The whole Nexus angle is great. And Percy Watson will get old with people fast. His character doesn't really allow much other than comedy angles. He'll be stuck in a Santino type position and people will stop caring, if he sticks around for a while at least.

I gotta agree with curbside about the battle royal. That thing was a steaming hot mess. Pro's beating up pro's, rookies beating up rookies (despite the fact that the BR was made soley because the rookies banded together to challenge the pro's). Then it ended up with 0 rookies in the last half of the match, completely killing any momentum they had & making them all afterthoughts on their own show. Then they had to stall for 10 minutes with Cody Rhodes talking to the ref multiple times on camera since they ran thru most of it too quickly. Then after it's all over, Matt Striker gets in the ring & asks Nexus about what they did to John Cena... OVER A MONTH AGO! They threaten Striker... HE STAYS IN THE RING & THEY DO NOTHING!
It's a shame though, cause the second that ass clown stood up to MVP, there were so many interesting things they could have done with it. Cole & Mathews didn't even mention how the rookies could have been getting revenge for when the pro's jumped them at the start of the season. They could have had the rookies try to team with Nexus. They could have had Nexus try to recruit some of the rookies. They could have set up a Nexus vs Rookies match down the line. They could have done just about anything & it would have turned out better than what ended up going down.

I think they could have made a bigger deal out of the NXT guys exits, maybe had some fueds with their pros or other rookies stem from it. But I think the ending was right to have it come down to Nexus vs. the WWE pros. And yeah, the Matt Striker thing was just weird. I guess they didn't want Nexus to get any face heat. They should have just avoided it all together really.

Just imagine how much more effective a Nexus/Rookie ending would have been, & the different ways they could have taken it. Nexus replicates what they did to Steamboat & the legends a few weeks back... picking off the pro's one by one with a little help from the rookies. The match comes down to Nexus vs Rookies. A couple of the rookies try to join Nexus, but Nexus destroys them... leaving the remaining rookies outnumbered. Nexus then destroys them. And with the rookies banding together at the start, it gives a reason for the pro's not coming back out to help.
This had potential to be a great milestone in the Nexus storyline, but it ended up poorly planned & poorly executed.

Yeah, that battle royal was as baffled as i've been by WWE programming in a long time. Russo level bullshit.
I also loved how, in this every man for himself battle royal, six men were announced the winners.

...& before the match Wade Barrett promised he would be the only winner.

Why are they taking so long eliminating the next guy? I thought eliminations were this week

Didn't Striker say during the first elimination that from that point on they'd eliminate another guy every week?

I loved Striker coming out during Percy's talk show and announcing the battle royal. It was so cheesy! And eh, Percy basically did his schtick at the beginning then was very normal talking to MVP and then TURNED HEEL OR SOMETHING?! I did enjoy his several ghetto hand shakes accompanied with a massive smile though.

Ummm... I don't think you'd find those hand shakes in the ghetto... more like the Castro.

"The Money in the Bank itself, I want to get this out there. ... I always get blown away by the ticket prices, because they're not a lot more than when I was a kid. But I guarantee with the kind of matches that we're putting on this show, I didn't realize that every other match, except the two ladder matches, which will be insane matches, tight matches as well. I'm Drew McIntyre, and I guarantee that anybody that buys a ticket and comes to the show and is not 100% satisfied, and don't think it's the greatest show they've ever seen in their life, ask security, ask for Drew McIntyre, and I will give them back their money myself, because that's how sure I am it'll be an amazing pay-per-view. The entire card is, 'Oh my God.'"

Money In The Bank was a great ppv. The SD money in the bank was great and to me its definitely a MOTYC. A little bit bummed out on the results on the SD side but I'm glad the RAW money in the bank ended up that way (Even though the match itself was meh). The steel cage surprised me and it turned out to be pretty good. Not too crazy about the fake finish but the whole Nexus deal was good.

That was one of the best episodes of RAW this year.
It was nice to see them open up the show with a 15-20 minute match instead of a 15-20 minute promo. Orton/Jericho/Edge was awesome. Great TV match.
I loved the Edge/Jericho/Nexus stuff afterwards. I like that heels keep trying to align themselves with Nexus... unsuccessfully.
Sheamus vs Bourne was good & the post-match MitB cash-in tease was entertaining... the crowd was cheering for the Miz for god sake!
LoL @ Wade Barrett throwing out his back & nearly killing Mark Henry.
Cena is fun to listen to on the mic when he's not trying to be funny. I think they could have come up with a better Team Cena, though. Khali & R-Truth?! *fart noise* Has Nexus even messed with either of them? Bourne & the Hart Dynasty should be on the team with Bret acting as more of an manager.
Edit: Anyone else think the Nexus theme song is annoying & doesn't fit them. It sucks almost as bad as the NXT theme. They deserve a walk-out like McIntyre has. Something slow, brooding, & methodical.
