I don't really care for 188 honestly. I don't care to watch Cain fight. This PPV is just a filler for me as I wait for this

I really hope Jacaré gets the shot. He is the one guy I think is better then weidman both on his feet and on the ground, even though the latter is debatable. But weidman surely never fought someone so strong and well-versed in submissions like jacaré, I'm curious as to if and how weidman is going to manage to do his usual grappling and grinding on this guy. Rockhold's right there! He deserves the shot more that Souza and it's a more interesting fight. Love that promo. It's about time they did one without using the usual "AND IT IS ALL OVER" and "THIS IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS!" Goldberg soundbites. The only fight I care about at 188 is Gilbert/Alvarez. I'd love for Cain to lose his title though, if only to have it be defended more often.

So Carlos Condit LITERALLY just put Thiago's Nose into his forehead. Just brutal stuff. Looked great in his return.

Swallowed some words there with Condit. Looked more like a finisher and less like a pointer there. Brutal fight. Absolutely brutal. Thiago is no pushover either.
Charles Oliveira always brings it.
I'm more excited for the card next saturday, than the one in Mexico.

I never understood how people think Carlos is a point fighter lol out of 30 wins only 2 are decisions. People watched the Diaz fight and forgot about the rest of his fights before and after lol.

Condit is one the most prolific finishers & most exciting fighters in all of MMA! One bad fight & he's a point fighter?! And Oliveira is on a roll now, but before that all he was known for was mentally & physically checking out of fights at the slightest bit of adversity... & I really like the kid.

The Chris vs Rockhold officially next, event TBD Also DC vs Guss next...
the 205 division is a joke now that Jon Jones is gone, dudes who would have never got a title shot are going to get then now just because Jones hasn't already beat them or would be looked at as a total mismatch. Gus is getting a title shot after getting fucked up BAD in his last fight from the guy DC just beat??? come on now.
Now don't get me wrong, the fight is going to be fun but Gus should have to win 1 fight before fighting for the belt.

Meh, it was either Bader or Gus. Gus certainly isn't deserving coming off a brutal loss to the guy DC just manhandled to win the title, but nobody wants to see Bader in a title fight. So it's whatever. I just wish Rashad would hurry up & get healthy, I wanna see him fight DC.
Can't wait for Weidman vs Rockhold. That's gonna be a great fight.

The Chris vs. Luke is gonna be a good fight. The right fight to book also.
I did want to see Bader get his ass handed to him, but, even though he's not "deserving enough", DC vs. Gus seems exciting.

LHW is so top heavy. There are only 4 viable contenders imo. One is suspended. One is champ. One just lost to the champ. Other is Gus, so yeah, it's the only fight that makes sense imo. Bader trying to talk his way into a title shot against DC was hilarious. He is a can and the fact that he is rated so highly just speaks to the lack of depth in the division. Rashad is probably the 5th best LHW right now in the company, which again, just speaks to the lack of depth.
I don't think Gus has anything for DC though. DC by ragdolling.

So. Show of the year so far? I'd certainly say so. I feel sorry for 188 having to follow that. Tons of exciting finishes. Not gonna talk about 'em all since they were all pretty great. Just a few notes... Brian Ortega. Gonna have to keep an eye on that kid. He shredded Tavares up from the bottom. Very impressive. I wanna see Ben Rothwell vs Josh Barnett. Poirier put a straight up ass whoopin' on Medeiros. Diamond had him in & out of consciousness like 3 times & nearly made him shit himself with a brutal body kick.

I originally had intended to not even watch this show at all, save for the Poirier fight. Happy that I reconsidered.
Ben Rothwell cut the greatest post-fight promo....ever? At least since Buentello's 'Don't fear me'.
