I was screaming at the tv for GSP to snap it, because I realized that Hardy wouldn't tap. I had a really bad feeling that Hardy was going to get a lucky one punch KO on GSP after the kimura...like really worried

UFC Fight Night: Florian vs Gomi & TUF 11 season premiere tonight. Kenny's gonna kill Gomi. Makes me sad, cause I used to love The Fireball Kid. I don't know what the hell is going on with the post-TUF Liddell/Ortiz III fight. Tito is apparently injured... it was rumored that Chuck was gonna fight Rich Franklin... now it's rumored that Chuck is gonna fight Couture in July.

Great Fight Night card.
Pearson/Siver was a fantastic opener. Pearson is a lot of fun to watch & I can't wait to see how he progresses in this sport. Hopefully he can become the true face of British MMA in the UFC now that Bisping & Hardy have fizzled out.
Nice stand-up battle between Rivera & Quarry.
The fatness of Big Country + the tallness of Skyscraper + the shittiness of Dan Miragliotta = power failure!
Poor Caol Uno. Tibau was sooooo much bigger than him. Uno looked like he was 2 weight classes below Tibau.
Great TKO victory for Big Country. Seeing him beat James Toney would be great, but I really wanna see him avenge his loss to Ben Rothwell.
Florian worked Gomi, just like I thought he would. He picked Gomi apart with that new BJ-like jab. Now I wanna Kenny avenge his loss to Diego (before he moves back up to 170).

I love Caol Uno with all my heart, but he really needs to go back to Japan or the WEC.

Yeah, Uno vs guys like Bendo, Cerrone, & Varner could be awesome.

If they out right cut him, he probably won't be heading to Zuffa owned WEC.
I can't wait for UFC 112 tomorrow... WAR ANDERSON!

I'm backing Maia all the way! I fully expect him to get out struck and not be allowed to get in close for any sort of takedown or be able to pull guard and in the end be knocked out, but I've always supported Maia in his fights and believe he at least has the biggest chance of winning a fight against Silva than any of his most recent opponents.

Yeah, I m going to go with Maia too. There is that air of Underdog kinda surrounding tomorrow's event. I may be wrong, but maybe Maia can get a fluke counter punch in...or maybe the underdog thing is with Penn and Edgar...Penn has just been such a force and has ripped through every single opponent the UFC puts in front of him. I haven't seen any hype packages or been watching UFC programming so I'm not sure how there portraying Edgar, he at least has a puncher's chance and is good on the ground.

Maia & Edgar don't stand a snowballs chance in hell.
Maia's stand up is mediocre at best... if he stands with Anderson for more than 2 minutes, he's a dead man. Maia is a BJJ whiz, but so were Lutter & Leites... so things won't turn out much better on the ground.
Edgar's got crisp boxing, but BJ's is much crisper. Edgar also has good wrestling, but he doesn't have the size to really threaten BJ with it. I'm guessing this fight is gonna look a lot like BJ/Sherk. BJ will out box him & easily stuff any takedowns he may go for. The real question here is can Frankie survive BJ's stand up & BJJ onslaught for 5 rounds?

It is a travesty to even mention Lutter and Maia in the same sentence. I think Maia's ground game may be underrated at this point. Not saying he beats Anderson automatically the second the fight hits the ground, but he certainly has a chance if that happens. Also, Anderson's a counter-striker, so if you don't attack him, chances are he's not gonna attack you either. He wants guys to rush at him like Forrest did, look how passive Anderson was in the Leites fight. I still think Anderson will absolutely win though.

I'm not delusional in thinking Maia will win, although I would mark if it happened. But, as Rogan put it a few months ago, Maia is the best BJJ practitioner in the UFC since Royce Gracie...if, by some miracle Maia gets Silva to the ground....there's a good chance he can end it. He has a much better chance than Lutter and Leites had going in.

I wasn't saying Lutter is better than Maia... I was just pointing out that Anderson didn't have any trouble with BJJ black belts Lutter & Leites. People seem to dismiss Anderson's ground game, despite the fact that he owns a BJJ black belt under the Nogueira brothers. Maia isn't gonna come up with anything Andserson hasn't seen a million times before.
I guess he'll never be able to live down that flying heel hook Chonan hit on him 6 years ago.

Anderson is a black belt (and it may very well be a legit one), Maia is someone who makes other black belts look like amateurs. The idea that he can't do anything that Anderson has never seen before is ludacris. Pretty sure almost everybody that ever fought BJ knows what a rear naked choke is and how to defend it Anyway, looking really forward to the show, starts in 30 minutes! Finally a show that I can actually watch live.
