Wow... Dana is smiling ear to ear right now. 3 lackluster title fights go the distance, the show goes 45 minutes over their slot, Hendo loses, & a post-fight brawl closes the show. This was a debacle of almost Kimbo/Petruzelli proportions.
Mousasi looked awful. He gassed after the second round... which is sad cause King Mo gassed pretty early too, but he was lucky enough to have his wrestling to fall back on.
LoL @ them trying to hype up Aoki as the #1 lightweight in the world. I like Aoki, but even the BJ Penn from last weekend would have merc'd his ass. Too bad Gilbert couldn't finish him. Yamasaki was off tonight, usually he's a pretty reliable ref.
Did Hendo look OLD or what? He gassed after the second time he knocked Shields down. Props to Shields for surviving that initial onslaught & working Hendo over for 4 rounds. He should have put a little more into those punches from mount though... he could have gotten Big John to stop it.
I loved how everyone was so upset at the post-fight "Mayhem," they went to commercial break, came back & then replayed it! They'll be lucky if CBS lets them back on the air this fall.

Yeah, I was pretty let down by the fights too. Henderson looked great for the first minute and a half or so of the fight and after that it went down hill. I really think he thought he had Shields (so did I) after the knockdown and was trying to make it look exciting and end it with the Bisping STFU punch when he should have just stayed composed and just rained down punches. I give credit to Shields though, he dominated the ground tonight, Vyper I totally agree with you on the punching from mount though, he was just trying to score points and not finish the fight.
I had heard about Mousasi on Sherdog and other sites so I was looking foward to him fighting Mo tonight, is there another Mousasi guy??
The highlight had to be the Mayhem thing right? It's like Strikeforce threw Miller out there to stir the pot just to make the fans remember something!!
I enjoy watching Strikeforce (Gina, Gina, Gina) but this doesn't help their status as being legitimate competition to UFC, everything about tonight screamed minor leagues that was trying to be build as the majors. I strongly believe Strikeforce should have gave Henderson a tomato can to beat up on, so he could knock off some of the ring rust and build him up in the eyes of the casual viewer. Now all this does is make Dana look like a genius for getting rid of Hendo and Strikeforce look like fools for signing him.

This was a perfect shitstorm of a show. Three HORRIBLE fights, so bad I couldn't finish any of them, nobody looking like a star, the fans not caring about anybody, lackluster presentation, and that disgraceful ending. Think about it: Aoki got exposed (although I knew this was gonna happen), Mo got exposed even in winning, Mousasi got exposed BIG TIME, nobody gives a fuck about Shields. Not even sure who I'm angry at, the fights going the way they did certainly wasn't SF's fault (although booking Shields/Hendo and melendez/Aoki was just asking for trouble). This could set back mma big-time.

Strikeforce Nashville "perfect shitstorm of a show!" Has a nice ring to it. Wraku, sadly that was the same Mousasi. Hopefully WEC will bring the goods next weekend. Aldo/Faber & Bendo/Cerrone II.

lol, thanks Vyper.
Looking forward to Aldo vs Faber...just wish it was on t.v. instead of PPV.
Also, MMAfighting.com has a list of it's top ten light-heavyweights. It has the usual suspects but King Mo ranks in at no. 8...weird.
They also have a video of Brett Rodgers, who has recently shaved his mo-hawk and has some harsh words for Overeem. Can't wait for that fight!

Can't wait for that fight! You should go watch the PPV fights at a sports bar/resturant or try to find a stream online (though that gets harder & harder every month). I think King Mo broke the top 10 cause he beat Mousasi who was a top 10 guy himself, but after that fight they had, I don't think either one of them deserve to be top 10.

Yeah, I don't do the streams thing cause I never been good at finding one and really don't want to make the effort and find a stream. I may have to try the bar thing, and order a soda or something....i don't drink. I agree, no Mo or Mousasi on the top 10. Shields is currently ranked no.2 in the top ten middleweights.

You don't have to order alcohol. You might have to pay a cover charge though (usually $5).
I don't know if I agree with Shields as #2 middleweight. He fought a seriously bad looking Hendo. I think Chael Sonnen could probably neutralize Jake's wrestling. He should probably be top 5 though.

Ranking Shields at MW is really difficult. He beat Top 15(?) Lawler and Mayhem and top 5 Hendo, who looked like he finally became old during the fight. I think people take his 170 run into consideration too. On the other hand, it is kinda hard to think of many guys to rank ahead of him since Anderson has destroyed everybody. Shields is probably a natural Welterweight, so Chael could certainly be able to outmuscle him.
Actually, I'm somewhat curious how Shields would do against Maia (I don't want to actually watch the fight...). They're probably on the same level standing (Maia might be better, think about that!), Shields wrestling & bjj is really good, but good enough for Maia? Could be one of the worst fights you'll ever see though with Shields deciding to keep it standing.

Oh man, Shields/Maia standing would be AWFUL!
